Question:

Is the temporary marriage according to Ibn Taymiyyah in harmony with the mind and nature of man?

Answer:
Ahmad Ibn Taymiyyah says: “Temporary marriage does not contradict either the natural disposition (Fitrah) or the mind (Aql). If it contradicted these, it would not have been allowed by Islam at that time.” [Ighathat-ul-Lahafan, pg. 492]

قال أحمد بن تيمية: ونكاح المتعة لا تنفر منه الفطر والعقول ولو نفرت منه لم يبح في أول الإسلام

And the Qur’an says:

Say: “God does not order the shameful.” [Al-A’raf 7:28]
