Hisham Ibn Salim reported that he asked Imam As-Sadiq (a.):“What about the temporary partnership (Mut’ah)? How do I enter into a partnership with her and what do i say? He said: “You say to her”: “I take you as my partner according to God’s Scripture and the custom of His Prophet for this and that month and this and that silver piece.” I (Amili) say: “It has already been dealt with, what is an indication of it and it follows, what serves as evidence for it here and also in relation to the Temporary Partnership and there are hints, that the Temporary limited bond will be changed into a permanent one, if one does not mention the limited time.” [Al-Wasa’il by Al-Amili, Volume 20 page 264 Hadith 10]

محمد بن الحسن بإسناده عن محمد بن أحمد بن يحيى، عن محمد بن الحسين عن موسى بن سعدان، عن عبد الله بن القاسم، عن هشام بن سالم، عن أبي عبد الله عليه السلام أنه سأله عن المتعة كيف أتزوجها وما أقول؟ قال: تقول لها: أتزوجك على كتاب الله وسنة نبيه كذا وكذا شهرا بكذا وكذا درهما الحديث. أقول: وتقدم ما يدل على ذلك ويأتي ما يدل عليه هنا وفي المتعة وهناك ما يدل على أن عقد المتعة ينقلب دائما مع عدم ذكر الأجل

Aban Ibn Taghlib reported that he asked Imam As-Sadiq (a.): “what do I tell her when i am alone with her? He said: “You say: “I take you as my partner for a limited time according to Gods scripture and the custom of His prophet.” Neither is she bequeathing nor inheriting: for this and that day. If you will: “For this and that year, for this and that piece of silver.” You name the gift about which you both have made an agreement, be it little or much. When she says: “Yes, I have consented.”Then she is your wife and you are closest to her of men.”Aban Ibn Taghlib spoke to Abu Abdillah (a.): “I am ashamed, to name the condition of the days. He (a) said: “This is more to your disadvantage.” I said: “Why?” He said: “Because it becomes a permanent partnership, if you have not set the condition and you are required to provide for her in the waiting period, and it has the right of inheritance, and you cannot separate from her, except by divorce according to the custom (of the Prophet).” [Al-Wasa’il of Al-Amili, Volume 21 Page 43 Hadith 1 + Page 47 – 48 Hadith 2]

محمد بن يعقوب، عن علي بن إبراهيم، عن أبيه، عن عمرو بن عثمان، عن إبراهيم بن الفضل، عن أبان بن تغلب، وعن علي بن محمد، عن سهل بن زياد عن إسماعيل بن مهران ومحمد بن أسلم، عن إبراهيم بن الفضل، عن أبان بن تغلب قال: قلت لأبي عبد الله عليه السلام: كيف أقول لها إذا خلوت بها؟ قال: تقول: أتزوجك متعة على كتاب الله وسنة نبيه لا وارثة ولا مورثة كذا وكذا يوما، وإن شئت كذا وكذا سنة، بكذا وكذا درهما، وتسمي من الاجر ما تراضيتما عليه قليلا كان أو كثيرا، فإذا قالت: نعم فقد رضيت وهي امرأتك وأنت أولى الناس بها وبالاسناد السابق عن أبان بن تغلب في حديث صيغة المتعة أنه قال لأبي عبد الله عليه‌ السلام: فاني أستحيي أن أذكر شرط الأيّام قال: هو أضر عليك قلت: وكيف؟ قال: لانك إن لم تشرط كان تزويج مقام ولزمتك النفقة في العدة وكانت وارثا ، ولم تقدر على أن تطلقها إلا طلاق السنة

Zurarah Ibn A’yan reported that Imam As-Sadiq (a.) said: “God created Eve and her partnership with Adam took place.”God said to him: “Leave her bridal speech to Me.” Adam said: “O Lord, I leave her wedding speech to you.” God said: “This was My will, and I have made her your partner, so hold her against you.” [Al-Wasa’il of Al-Amili, volume 20 page 261 Hadith 1]

محمد بن علي بن الحسين باسناده عن زرارة بن أعين، عن أبي عبد الله عليه السلام في حديث خلق حواء وتزويج آدم بها إن الله عز وجل قال له: اخطبها إلى، فقال: يا رب فاني أخطبها إليك – إلى أن قال: – فقال الله عز وجل: قد شئت ذلك وقد زوجتكها فضمها إليك

When Muhammad Al-Jawad (a.) married the daughter of Al-Ma’mun: “He himself gave the bridal speech and said: Praise be to God, the Perfector of Graces.”Until he said: “This commander of the faithful made his daughter my partner according to the duty of God.” Then he mentioned the amount of the brides gift and said: “Have you made me for the partner, O commander of the faithful?” Al-Ma’mun said: “Yes.” he said: “I have accepted and consented.” [Al-Wasa’il of Al-Amili, volume 20 page 261 Hadith 2]

قال ولما تزوج أبو جعفر محمد بن علي الرضا عليه السلام ابنة المأمون خطب لنفسه فقال: الحمد لله متمم النعم إلى أن قال: وهذا أمير المؤمنين زوجني ابنته على ما فرض الله ثم ذكر قدر المهر وقال: زوجتني يا أمير المؤمنين؟ قال: بلى، قال: قبلت ورضيت

Muhammad Ibn Muslim reported that Imam Al-Baqir (a.) said: “A woman stood before the prophet (s.) and said: “Give me into the partnership!” He said: “Who takes care of her?” A man said:” I, O Messenger of God.” The Prophet (s.) asked: “What do you give her?” The man said: “I have no possession.” Until the Prophet said: “Are you good at the Qur’an?” The man answered: “Yes.” The Prophet (s.) said: “I have made her your partner for what you are good at from the Qur’an, so teach her!” [Al-Wasa’il of Al-Amili, vol. 20 page 261 Hadith 3]

محمد بن يعقوب، عن محمد بن يحيى، عن أحمد بن محمد، عن علي بن الحكم عن العلا بن رزين، عن محمد بن مسلم، عن أبي جعفر عليه السلام قال: جاءت امرأة إلى النبي صلى الله عليه وآله فقالت: زوجني، فقال: من لهذه؟ فقال: رجل فقال: أنا يا رسول الله قال: ما تعطيها؟ قال: ما لي شئ إلى أن قال فقال: أتحسن شيئا من القرآن؟ قال: نعم، قال: قد زوجتكها على ما تحسن من القرآن فعلمها إياه

Buraid Al-Ijli reported that he asked Imam Al-Baqir (a.) about the verse: “They made a firm covenant with you.” (4:21) He said: “The covenant is the formula, by which the union (Nikah) is arranged and by firm is meant the semen of the man, which he pushes away into the woman.” [Al-Wasa’il of Al-Amili, Volume 20 page 162 Hadith 4]

وعنه، عن أحمد، عن ابن محبوب، عن أبي أيوب، عن بريد قال: سألت أبا جعفر عليه السلام عن قول الله عز وجل: وأخذن منكم ميثاقا غليظا فقال: الميثاق هو الكلمة التي عقد بها النكاح وأما قوله: غليظا فهو ماء الرجل يفضيه إليها

Abdullah Ibn Sinan reported that Imam As-Sadiq (a.) said: “There are no two believing people who come together for a legitimate union (Nikah) unless a shouter from heaven shouts: “God made him the partner of that one.” [Al-Wasa’il of Al-Amili, Volume 20 Page 162 Hadith 5]

وعنه، عن أحمد، عن ابن محبوب، عن ابن سنان، عن أبي عبد الله عليه السلام قال: ما من مؤمنين يجتمعان بنكاح حلال حتى ينادي مناد من السماء ان الله قد زوج فلانا فلانة

Asim As-Saluli reported that Imam Ali (a.) asked a woman: “Do you have a relative (Wali)?” She said, “Yes, my brothers who are there.” He asked them: “Is my business with you and your sister allowed? They said: “Yes.” He said: “I take God and those, who are present from the Muslims, as witnesses, that I have made this girl this guys partner for 400 pieces of silver and means of payment from my own property.” [Al-Wasa’il of Al-Amili, Volume 20 Page 263 Hadith 6]

وعن علي بن محمد، عن إبراهيم بن إسحاق، عن يوسف بن محمد، عن سويد بن سعيد، عن عبد الرحمن بن أحمد، عن محمد بن إبراهيم بن أبي ليلي، عن الهيثم بن جميل، عن زهير، عن أبي إسحاق، عن عاصم بن ضمرة عن أمير المؤمنين عليه السلام في حديث طويل أنه قال لامرأة: ألك ولي؟ قالت: نعم هؤلاء إخوتي فقال لهم: امرى فيكم وفي أختكم جائز؟ قالوا: نعم، فقال علي عليه السلام: اشهد الله واشهد من حضر من المسلمين أنى قد زوجت هذه الجارية من هذا الغلام بأربعمائة درهم والنقد من مالي

Ubaid Ibn Zurarah reported that he asked Imam As-Sadiq (a.): “What about the partnership without a bridal speech?” He said: “Let’s not usually say at the table, when our boys enter into partnership with our girls and we prepare food: “O so and so, make that one the partner of that one”. Whereupon he says: “Yes, I have done it.” [Al-Wasa’il of Al-Amili, Volume 20 page 263 Hadith 7]

وعن محمد بن يحيى، عن أحمد بن محمد، عن الحسن بن علي بن فضال، عن علي بن يعقوب، عن هارون بن مسلم، عن عبيد بن زرارة قال: سألت أبا عبد الله عليه السلام عن التزويج بغير خطبة؟ فقال: أوليس عامة ما يتزوج فتياننا فتياتنا ونحن نتعرق الطعام على الخوان نقول: يا فلان زوج فلانا فلانة فيقول: نعم قد فعلت

Abdullah Ibn Maimun reported that Imam As-Sadiq (a.) said: “Ali, the son of Al-Husain (a.), used to enter into a partnership, sweating at dinner and saying nothing more than that: praise be to God and the blessing of God be on Muhammad and his family and we ask God for forgiveness and make you a partner according to the condition set by God.” [Al-Wasa’il by Al-Amili, Volume 20 Page 263 Hadith 8]

وعن عدة من أصحابنا، عن سهل بن زياد، عن جعفر بن محمد الأشعري عن عبد الله بن ميمون القداح، عن أبي عبد الله عليه السلام: إن علي بن الحسين عليه السلام كان يتزوج وهو يتعرق عرقا يأكل ما يزيد على أن يقول: الحمد لله وصلى الله على محمد وآله، ونستغفر الله وقد زوجناك على شرط الله

Abd-ur-Rahman Ibn Kathir reported that Imam As-Sadiq (a.) said: “When the messenger (s.) wanted to enter into partnership with Khadijah, the daughter of Khuwailid (a.), Abu Talib (a.) came along. Then he mentioned his bridal speech until he said: “Khadijah (a.) said: I have made myself your partner, o Muhammad, and I take the bridal gift from my own possessions.” [Al-Wasa’il of Al-Amili, Volume 20 Page 263 – 264 Hadith 9]

وعن بعض أصحابنا، عن علي بن الحسين عن علي بن حسان عن عبد الرحمن بن كثير، عن أبي عبد الله عليه السلام قال: لما أراد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله أن يتزوج خديجة بنت خويلد أقبل أبو طالب ثم ذكر خطبته إلى أن قال: فقالت خديجة: قد زوجتك يا محمد نفسي والمهر علي في مالي
