Hisham Ibn Salim reported that Imam As-Sadiq (a.) said:“A group was brought to the commander of the faithful (a.) and said: “Peace be upon you, O our Lord (God)”. Then he asked them to repent, but they did not repent. Then he dug a pit for them and lit a fire in it, and next to it he dug another pit and made a connection between the two. When they still had not repented, he threw them into the pit and lit a fire in the other until they died.” [Al-Wasa’il of Al-Amili, vol. 28 page 334 Hadith 1]

محمد بن يعقوب، عن محمد بن يحيى، عن أحمد بن محمد، عن ابن أبي عمير، عن هشا بن سالم، عن أبي عبد الله عليه السلام قال: أتي قوم أمير المؤمنين عليه الصلاة والسلام فقالوا السلام عليك يا ربنا! فاستتابهم، فلم يتوبوا، فحفر لهم حفيرة وأوقد فيها نارا وحفر حفيرة إلى جانبها أخرى وأفضى بينهما فلما لم يتوبوا ألقاهم في الحفيرة وأوقد في الحفيرة الأخرى حتى ماتوا

Kirdin told of a man that Imam As-Sadiq (a.) and Al-Baqir (a.) said: “When the commander of the believers (a.) had finished with the people of Basra, seventy men from India came to him. They gave him the greeting of peace and talked to him in their language and he answered them in their language. Then he said: “I am not as you say. I am the servant and creature of God.” But they disagreed with him and said: “It is you (God).” Then he said: “If you do not stop and take back what you say about me and repent to God, then i will take your life.” But they refused to take it back and to turn it around, and so he ordered them to dig holes in the ground for it, and they were dug. He then made some of them an opening to others. Then he threw them into it. Then he covered its ends. Then the fire broke out in a hollow in which none of them was, whereupon the smoke came to them and they died.” [Al-Wasa’il of Al-Amili, volume 28 page 335 Hadith 2]

وعن محمد بن يحيى، عن أحمد بن محمد، عن ابن محبوب، عن صالح بن سهل، عن كردين عن رجل، عن أبي عبد الله وأبي جعفر عليهما السلام أن أمير المؤمنين عليه السلام لما فرغ من أهل البصرة أتاه سبعون رجلا من الزط، فسلموا عليه وكلموه بلسانهم، فرد عليهم بلسانهم، ثم قال: إني لست كما قلتم، أنا عبد الله مخلوق، فأبوا عليه، وقالوا: أنت هو، فقال: لئن لم تنتهوا وترجعوا عما قلتم في، وتتوبوا إلى الله لأقتلنكم، فأبوا أن يرجعوا ويتوبوا، فأمر أن تحفر لهم آبار، فحفرت، ثم خرق بعضها إلى بعض، ثم قذفهم فيها، ثم خمر رؤوسها، ثم الهبت النار في بئر منها ليس فيه أحد منهم، فيدخل عليهم الدخان فيها فماتوا

Sinan reported that Imam Al-Baqir (a.) said: “Abdullah Ibn Saba’ claimed to be a prophet and claimed that the commander of the believers (a.) was God (Allah), who is exalted above it. Then the news of it reached the Commander of the Believers (a.) and he called him to himself. Abdullah Ibn Saba’ acknowledged this and said: “Yes, it is you and i was enlightened that you are God (Allah) and I am a prophet.” Then the Imam (a.) said to him: “Woe to you, Satan has amused himself about you, turn away from it, may your mother lose you and be perished!” But he refused, so he took him into his custody and called him to repent for three days, but he did not repent. Then he burned him with fire and said: “Satan deceived him. So he used to come to him and inspire him with it.” [Al-Wasa’il of Al-Amili, vol. 28 page 336 Hadith 4]

محمد بن عمر بن عبد العزيز الكشي في كتاب الرجال عن محمد بن قولويه، عن سعد بن عبد الله، عن محمد بن عثمان العبدي، عن يونس بن عبد الرحمن، عن عبد الله بن سنان، عن أبيه، عن أبي جعفر عليه السلام قال: إن عبد الله بن سبأ كان يدعي النبوة، وكان يزعم أن أمير المؤمنين عليه السلام هو الله تعالى عن ذلك فبلغ أمير المؤمنين عليه السلام فدعاه فسأله، فأقر وقال: نعم أنت هو، وقد كان ألقي في روعي أنك أنت الله وأنا نبي، فقال له أمير المؤمنين عليه السلام: ويلك قد سخر منك الشيطان، فارجع عن هذا ثكلتك أمك وتب، فأبى، فحبسه، واستتابه ثلاثة أيام فلم يتب فأخرجه فأحرقه بالنار

Ibn Abi Umair reported that Hisham Ibn Salim said: “I heard Abu Abdillah As-Sadiq (a.) telling his companions about Abdullah Ibn Saba’ and that he claimed that the commander of the believers (a.) was the Lord (God).” Then he said, “When he claimed this about him, the Commander of the Faithful (a.) asked him to repent, but he refused to repent. So he burned him with fire.” [Al-Wasa’il of Al-Amili, vol. 28 page 336 Hadith 5]

وعنه، عن سعد، عن يعقوب بن يزيد، ومحمد بن عيسى جميعا، عن ابن أبي عمير، عن هشام بن سالم، قال: سمعت أبا عبد الله عليه السلام يقول وهو يحدث أصحابه بحديث عبد الله بن سبأ، وما ادعى من الربوبية لأمير المؤمنين عليه السلام فقال: إنه لما ادعى ذلك فيه استتابه أمير المؤمنين عليه السلام فأبى أن يتوب، فأحرقه بالنار
