Question:

What praise (Tasbih) did the messenger (s.) teach his daughter (a.)?

Answer:

Ali Ibn Abi Talib (a.) reported that the Prophet Muhammad (a.) said: “Shall i not inform you of what is better for you as a worshipper? When you go to sleep, declare the greatness of God 34 times (Allahu Akbar) and glorify Him 33 times (Subhana-llah) and praise Him 33 times (Al-Hamduli-llah).” Then Fatimah (a.) lifted out her head and said: “I am satisfied with God and His Messenger, I am satisfied with God and His Messenger.” [Man La Yahduruh-ul-Faqih of As-Saduq, Volume 1, page 320 Hadith 947]

عن علي بن أبي طالب سلام الله عليهما عن الرسول صلى الله عليه وآله قال: أفلا أعلمكما ما هو خير لكما من الخادم؟ إذا أخذتما منامكما فكبرا أربعا وثلاثين تكبيرة، وسبحا ثلاثا وثلاثين تسبيحة، واحمدا ثلاثا وثلاثين تحميدة، فأخرجت فاطمة عليها السلام رأسها وقالت: رضيت عن الله وعن رسوله رضيت عن الله وعن رسوله

Mufaddal Ibn Umar reported that Imam As-Sadiq (a.) said: “Say the praise of Fatimah (a.) in which one says 34 times: “God is greatest (Allahu Akbar).” And 33 times: ” Glory be to God (Subhana-llah).” And 33 times: “Praise be to God (Al-Hamduli-llah).” For by God, if there had been a better one than this, the messenger (s.) would have taught her.” [Al-Asrar-ul-Fatimiyyah of Al-Mahmudi, page 296 – 297]

وعن التهذيب علي بن حاتم عن محمد بن جعفر بن أحمد بن بطة القمي عن محمد بن الحسين بن أبي الخطاب عن محمد بن سنان وأبو محمد هارون بن موسى قال حدثنا محمد بن علي بن معمر عن محمد بن الحسين بن أبي الخطاب عن محمد بن سنان عن المفضل بن عمر عن أبي عبد عليه السلام في حديث نافلة شهر رمضان قال: سبح تسبيح فاطمة عليها السلام وهو الله أكبر أربعا وثلاثين مرة وسبحان الله ثلاثا وثلاثين مرة، و الحمد لله ثلاثا وثلاثين مرة فوالله لو كان شئ أفضل منه لعلمه رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم إياها

Salih Ibn Aqabah reported that Imam Al-Baqir (a.) said: “God has not been worshipped by anything better than the praise of Fatimah (a.) and if there were a better praise than it, then the Messenger (s.) would have given it to Fatimah (a.).” [Al-Hada’iq-un-Nadirah of Al-Bahrani, Vol. 8 Page 516 Hadith 4]

وعن صالح بن عقبة عن عقبة عن أبي جعفر عليه السلام قال: ما عبد الله بشئ من التحميد أفضل من تسبيح فاطمة عليها السلام ولو كان شئ أفضل منه لنحله رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله فاطمة عليها السلام

Abu Harun Al-Makfuf reported that Imam As-Sadiq (a.) said: “O Abu Harun, we command our children the praise of Fatimah (a.) just as we command them to pray. So, stick to it, for a servant who does not stick to it will be unhappy.” [Al-Kafi of Al-Kulaini, volume 3 page 343 Hadith 13]

محمد بن يحيى عن محمد بن الحسين عن محمد بن إسماعيل بن بزيع عن صالح ابن عقبة عن أبي هارون المكفوف عن أبي عبد الله عليه السلام قال: يا أبا هارون إنا نأمر صبياننا بتسبيح فاطمة عليها السلام كما نأمرهم بالصلاة فألزمه فإنه لم يلزمه عبد فشقي

Abdullah Ibn Sinan reported that Imam As-Sadiq (a.) said: “Whoever recites the praise of Fatimah Az-Zahra’ (a.) before he lifts his legs from the obligatory prayer has been forgiven, whereby he begins by uttering the greatness of God (Allahu Akbar).” [Tahdhib-ul-Ahkam by At-Tusi, Volume 2, page 105 Hadith 163]

وعنه عن فضالة عن ابن سنان قال قال أبو عبد الله عليه السلام: من سبح تسبيح فاطمة الزهراء عليها السلام قبل ان يثني رجليه من صلاة الفريضة غفر له ويبدأ بالتكبير

Abu Khalaf Al-Qammat reported that Imam As-Sadiq (a.) said: “To pronounce the praise of Fatimah Az-Zahra’ (a.) every day after every prayer is more loved by me (Mustahab) than a daily prayer with a thousand bowings (Rak’ah).” [Thawab-ul-A’mal of As-Saduq, page 163 Hadith 4]

حدثني محمد بن الحسن عن محمد بن الحسن الصفار عن محمد بن الحسن عن محمد بن إسماعيل عن أبي خلف القماط قال سمعت أبا عبد الله عليه السلام يقول: تسبيح فاطمة الزهراء عليها السلام في كل يوم في دبر كل صلاة أحب إلي من صلاة ألف ركعة في كل يوم

Ibn Abi Najran reported that Imam As-Sadiq (a.) said: “Whoever pronounces the praise of Fatimah (a.) a hundred times after the obligatory (prayer) and afterwards says once: “No one is worthy of worship except God (La ilaha illa-llah), he has been forgiven.” [Wasa’il-ush-Shi’ah by Al-Hurr Al-Amili, Volume 6 Page 440 Hadith 3]

وعنهم عن أحمد بن محمد بن خالد عن يحيى بن محمد عن علي بن النعمان عن ابن أبي نجران عن رجل عن أبي عبد الله عليه السلام قال من سبح الله في دبر الفريضة تسبيح فاطمة المائة مرة وأتبعها بلا إله إلا الله مرة غفر له
