Question:

Where did Al-Hurr Al-Amili give the authors of the four books the title “Imam”?

Answer:

Muhammad Al-Hurr Al-Amili writes

“Ja’far Al-Hilli already clarified, as mentioned before, that he owned the book of Yunus Ibn Abd Ar-Rahman and the book of Al-Fadl Ibn Shadhan and he told the sayings from both of them, and the transmitters and knowers of the sources already mentioned that both were shown to the Imams (a.), so what should one expect from the three Imams (Al-Kulaini, As-Saduq, At-Tusi) who are the authors of the four books?” [Wasa’il-ush-Shi’ah, volume 30 page 254]
