Ali Ibn Ja’far reported that he asked Imam Al-Kazim (a.): “What is the case with a man who experiences the month of Ramadan during a journey. Should he fast fully in the place where he remains?” He said: “No, not unless he spends ten days in the place where he stays, because if he spends ten days in the place where he stays, then he fasts and prays completely.” Ali said:  “I questioned him about a man who still has to fast days from the month of Ramadan while he is a traveler. Will he make up for it if he stays in place?”  He said:  “No, not unless he spends ten days in the place where he is staying.”  [Wasa’il-ush-Shi’ah of Al-Hurr Al-Amili, Volume 5 Page 524 – 525 Hadith 1]

محمد بن يعقوب، عن محمد بن يحيى، عن العمركي، عن علي بن جعفر، عن أبي الحسن عليه السلام قال: سألته عن الرجل يدركه شهر رمضان في السفر فيقيم الأيام في المكان عليه صوم؟ قال: لا حتى يجمع على مقام عشرة أيام، وإذا أجمع على مقام عشرة أيام صام وأتم الصلاة، قال: وسألته عن الرجل يكون عليه أيام من شهر رمضان وهو مسافر يقضي إذا أقام في المكان؟ قال: لا حتى يجمع على مقام عشرة أيام

Ali Ibn Abi Hamzah reported that Abu Basir said:  “If you have entered a ground while you want to stay in it for ten days, then fast and pray completely and if you want to spend less than ten days in it, then break the fast for the time between you and a month. When the month is reached, then pray and fast completely, even if you should say: “I’m leaving tomorrow!”  [Wasa’il-ush-Shi’ah of Al-Hurr Al-Amili, Volume 5 Page 525 Hadith 3]

وعنه، عن عدة من أصحابنا، عن أحمد بن محمد، عن الحسين بن سعيد، عن القاسم بن محمد، عن علي بن أبي حمزة، عن أبي بصير قال: إذا قدمت أرضا وأنت تريد أن تقيم بها عشرة أيام فصم وأتم، وإن كنت تريد أن تقيم أقل من عشرة أيام فأفطر ما بينك وبين شهر فإذا تم بلغ الشهر فأتم الصلاة والصيام، وإن قلت: أرتحل غدوة
