Question:

After the four messengers, does the imam (a) have any Intermediaries?

Answer:

Abdullah Ibn Sinan reported that Imam As-Sadiq (a.) said: ,,How will you be in a situation where you neither see the guiding Imam nor any sign, so that no one is saved from this confusion except the one who recites the supplication of the one who is perishing (Du’a’-ul-Ghariq)?” My father said: ,,By God, this is a test! What shall we do at that time, may my life be sacrificed for you?” He said: ,,If this happens, – and you will not experience it, – then hold on to what you have in your hands until the matter becomes clear to you.” [Al-Ghaibah of An-Nu’mani, page 161 Hadith 4]

عن حماد بن عيسى عن عبد الله بن سنان عن الإمام الصادق عليه السلام قال: كيف أنتم إذا صرتم في حال لا ترون فيها إمام هدى ولا علما يرى فلا ينجو من تلك الحيرة إلا من دعا بدعاء الغريق فقال أبي: هذا والله البلاء فكيف نصنع جعلت فداك حينئذ؟ قال: إذا كان ذلك ولن تدركه فتمسكوا بما في أيديكم حتى يتضح لكم الأمر

Ali Ibn Muhammad As-Saimari reported that Imam Al-Mahdi (a.) said: ,,O Ali, son of Muhammad, may God multiply the reward of your brethren! You will pass away in six days, so order your affairs and do not appoint anyone to be your deputy after your death, for the complete occultation has already taken place.” [Al-Khara’ij of Ar-Rawandi, Volume 3 page 1129]

عن ابن بابويه عن الحسن بن أحمد عن علي بن محمد الصيمري عن الإمام المهدي عليه السلام قال: يا علي بن محمد أعظم الله أجر إخوانك فيك فإنك ميت ما بينك وبين ستة أيام فاجمع أمرك ولا توص إلى أحد يقوم مقامك بعد وفاتك فقد وقعت الغيبة التامة

Muhammad Ibn Isa reported that Imam Al-Mahdi (a.) said: ,,As for the upcoming incidents, return in it to the narrators of our sayings, for they are my proof to you and I am the proof of God to you.” Abu Ja’far At-Tusi writes: ,,The narrator’s own statement is not a proof.” [Al-Ghaibah of At-Tusi, pages 44 + 184]

عن جماعة عن أبي محمد عن أحمد بن علي عن الحسين بن علي عن محمد بن علي عن علي بن محمد عن علي بن إبراهيم عن عثمان بن عيسى عن الإمام المهدي عليه السلام قال: وأما الحوادث الواقعة فارجعوا فيها إلى رواة حديثنا فإنهم حجتي عليكم وأنا حجة الله عليكم وقال الشيخ أبو جعفر الطوسي: وقول الراوي ليس بحجة

Yazid Ibn Abd Al-Malik reported that Imam As-Sadiq (a.) said: ,,Visit each other, for in your visit there is that which keeps your hearts alive and remembers our sayings and our sayings connect you with each other. If you accept them, you are guided and saved and if you leave them, you are misguided and ruined. Accept them and I promise you your salvation.” [Wasa’il-ush-Shi’ah of Al-Hurr Al-Amili, Volume 18 Page 61 Hadith 38]
