Hasan Ibn Ali reported that Imam Al-Kazim (a.) said:“Become understanding (Faqih) with regards to the religion of God, for understanding (Fiqh) is the key to insight and the completion of worship (Ibadah) and the means to high positions and great rank in religion and in this world. The preference of the understanding one (Faqih) over the worshipper (Abid) is like the preference of the sun over the stars and those who did not become understanding (Faqih) in their religion, did not attain any pleasure from God with regards to his deeds.” [Tuhaf-ul-Uqul of Al-Harrani, page 410]

عن حسن بن علي عن الإمام الكاظم عليه السلام قال: تفقهوا في دين الله فإن الفقه مفتاح البصيرة وتمام العبادة والسبب إلى المنازل الرفيعة والرتب الجليلة في الدين والدنيا وفضل الفقيه على العابد كفضل الشمس على الكواكب ومن لم يتفقه في دينه لم يرض الله له عملا

Husain Ibn Muhammad reported that the Prophet Muhammad (s.) said: “Having understanding (Fiqh) is an irrevocable obligation for every Muslim, and whoever crosses an ocean in search of knowledge, God grants him the reward of seventy small pilgrimages, and to him He makes death easier. A single understanding person (Faqih) is worse for Satan than a thousand (in prayer) standing and a thousand fasting people, and a knowing person from whose knowledge is benefited from is better than a thousand servants (of God).” [Mustadrak-ul-Wasa’il of An-Nuri, volume 17 page 301 Hadith 55]

عن حسين بن محمد عن النبي صلى الله عليه وآله قال: الفقه حتم واجب على كل مسلم ومن عبر بحرا في طلب العلم اعطاه الله اجر سبعين عمرة ويهون عليه الموت والفقيه الواحد اشد على الشيطان من الف قائم والف صائم وعالم ينتفع بعلمه خير من الف عابد

Muhammad Ibn Isma’il reported that Imam Al-Kazim (a.) said: “If i found a youth among our followers who did not become an understanding one (Faqih), i would give him a blow with the sword.” [Mizan-ul-Hikmah of Ar-Raishahri, Volume 2 Page 1401]

عن محمد بن إسماعيل عن الإمام الكاظم عليه السلام قال: لو وجدت شابا من شبان الشيعة لا يتفقه لضربته ضربة بالسيف

Ishaq Ibn Ammar reported that Imam As-Sadiq (a.) said: “I would just whip the heads of my companions until they become understanding (Faqih) about what is allowed and what is forbidden.” [Bihar-ul-Anwar of Al-Majlisi, Volume 1 Page 213 Hadith 12]

عن إسحاق بن عمار عن الإمام الصادق عليه السلام قال: ليت السياط على رؤوس أصحابي حتى يتفقهوا في الحلال والحرام

Ali Ibn Husain reported that Imam Ar-Rida (a.) said: “The stage of the understanding one (Faqih) of this time is like the stage of the prophets among the children of Israel.” [Al-Fiqh of Al Qaeda, page 338]

عن علي بن الحسين عن الإمام الرضا عليه السلام قال: منزلة الفقيه في هذا الوقت كمنزلـة الأنبياء في بني إسرائيل

Muhammad Ibn Ali reported that Imam Ali (a.) said: “Become understanding (Faqih) in the religion of God, for the understanding ones (Fuqaha’) are the heirs of the Prophets. The Prophets did not inherit a gold coin or a silver coin, but they inherited the knowledge, and whoever took from it acquired a considerable share.” [Man La Yahduruh-ul-Faqih of As-Saduq, Volume 4 page 387]

عن محمد بن علي عن أمير المؤمنين عليه السلام قال: وتفقه في الدين فإن الفقهاء ورثة الأنبياء، إن الأنبياء لم يورثوا دينارا ولا درهما ولكنهم ورثوا العلم، فمن أخذ منه أخذ بحظ وافر

Ali Ibn Abi Talib (a.) reported that the Prophet Muhammad (a.) said: “The most gifted man is the understanding one (Faqih) in the religion. When he was needed, he was useful, and when he was not needed, he was useful to himself.” [Bihar-ul-Anwar of Al-Majlisi, Volume 1 Page 216 Hadith 29]

عن علي بن أبي طالب عليهما السلام عن النبي صلى الله عليه وآله قال: نعم الرجل الفقيه في الدين إن احتيج إليه نفع وإن لم يحتج إليه نفع نفسه

Mufaddal Ibn Umar reported that Imam As-Sadiq (a.) said: “Be understanding (Faqih) with regards to the religion of God and do not be a bedouin! If you do not understand (Faqih) the religion of God, God will not look at you on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He purify any of your deeds.” [Al-Mahasin of Al-Barqi, Volume 1 Page 228 Hadith 162]

في وصية المفضل بن عمر قال: سمعت أبا عبد الله عليه السلام يقول: تفقهوا في دين الله ولا تكونوا أعرابا، فإنه من لم يتفقه في دين الله لم ينظر الله إليه يوم القيامة ولم يزك له عملا

Muhammad Ibn Ali reported that Imam Ali (a.) said: “Become understanding (Faqih) in the religion, because the understanding ones (Fuqaha’) are the heirs of the Prophets.” [Ghawali Al-La’ali of Al-Ahsa’i, Volume 4 Page 60 Hadith 5]

عن محمد بن على بن ابراهيم عن الإمام علي عليه السلام قال: تفقه في الدين فان الفقهاء ورثة الأنبياء

Sulaiman Ibn Khalid reported that he asked Imam As-Sadiq (a.) about the verse: “To him to whom wisdom is given, much good has been given.” (2:269) He said: “Wisdom is the knowledge and the understanding with regards to the religion. So whoever of you understands (Fiqh) is wise, and none of the believers, who dies, is more dear to the devil than a person who understands (Faqih).” [Bihar-ul-Anwar of Al-Majlisi, Volume 1 Page 215 Hadith 25]

تفسير العياشي: عن سليمان بن خالد، قال: سألت أبا عبد الله عليه السلام عن قول الله ومن يؤت الحكمة فقد أوتي خيرا كثيرا فقال: إن الحكمة المعرفة والتفقه في الدين، فمن فقه منكم فهو حكيم، وما أحد يموت من المؤمنين أحب إلى إبليس من فقيه
