Abu Abdillah An-Nu’mani writes: “Among all the followers of the people of the House (a.) who are firmly grounded in the knowledge and traditions of the Imams (a.), there is no disagreement that the book of Sulaim Ibn Qais Al-Hilali is one of the principles of the mightiest books,which the people of knowledge report and belongs to the firmly established and foremost traditions of the people of the House (a.), because everything, that includes this principle, has been reported by the Prophet Muhammad (s.) and Commander of the Believers (a.) and has been heard through them. The book is among the principles that the followers of the people of the House (a.) refer back to and rely on.” [Al-Ghaibah, page 103][Al-Ghaibah, page 103]

قال الشيخ أبو عبد الله النعماني رحمه الله: وليس بين جميع الشيعة ممن حمل العلم ورواه عن الأئمة عليهم السلام خلاف في أن كتاب سليم بن قيس الهلالي أصل من أكبر كتب الأصول التي رواها أهل العلم ومن حملة حديث أهل البيت عليهم السلام وأقدمها، لأن جميع ما اشتمل عليه هذا الأصل إنما هو عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وأمير المؤمنين والمقداد وسلمان الفارسي وأبي ذر ومن جرى مجراهم ممن شهد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وأمير المؤمنين عليه السلام وسمع منهما، وهو من الأصول التي ترجع الشيعة إليها ويعول عليها
