Hasan Ibn Mahbub reported that he said to Imam As-Sadiq (a.): “I hear the saying (hadith), but i do not know whether i hear it from you or from your father.” He said: “Whatever you hear from me, I narrate to you from Muhammad (s.).” [Bihar-ul-Anwar of Al-Majlisi, Volume 2 Page 161 Hadith 16]

Muhammad Ibn Muslim reported that Imam Al-Baqir (a.) said: “Gabriel (a.) brought Muhammad (s.) two pomegranates from the Garden of Paradise. Then Ali (a.) met him and he said: “What are these pomegranates that you hold in your hand?” He said: “As for this one, it expresses prophethood in which you have no share, and as for the other, it expresses knowledge.” The Messenger (s.) split the pomegranate in two and gave one half to Ali (a.). The other half the Messenger took for himself and said: “You are my partaker in it!” He said: “By Allah, there was no letter of knowledge taught by Allah except that he taught the knowledge to Ali, and then the knowledge ended with us.” Then he put his hand on his chest.Muhammad Baqir Al-Majlisi writes: “Trustworthy (Muwaththaq).” [Al-Kafi of Al-Kulaini, volume 1 page 236 Hadith 3; Mir’at-ul-Uqul of Al-Majlisi, volume 3 page 135]

محمد بن يحيى، عن محمد بن الحسن، عن محمد بن عبد الحميد، عن منصور بن يونس، عن ابن أذينة، عن محمد بن مسلم قال: سمعت أبا جعفر عليه السلام يقول: نزل جبرئيل على محمد صلى الله عليه وآله برمانتين من الجنة، فلقيه علي عليه السلام فقال: ما هاتان الرمانتان اللتان في يدك؟ فقال: أما هذه فالنبوة، ليس لك فيها نصيب، وأما هذه فالعلم، ثم فلقها رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله بنصفين فأعطاه نصفها وأخذ رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله نصفها ثم قال: أنت شريكي فيه وأنا شريكك فيه، قال: فلم يعلم والله رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله حرفا مما علمه الله عز وجل إلا وقد علمه عليا ثم انتهى العلم إلينا، ثم وضع يده على صدره. وقال شيخ الإسلام المجلسي رضي الله عنه: موثّق

Muhammad Ibn Shuraih reported that Imam As-Sadiq (a.) said: “If God had not made obedience (4:59) and closeness to us (5:55) a duty, and if He had not commanded love for us (42:23), we would not let you stop at our gates and join us in our homes. By God, we neither speak of our own inclination nor do we speak of our own opinion, for we say nothing except what our Lord says and with us are foundations (Usul). We keep them as treasures, just as men keep their gold and silver as treasures.” [Basa’ir-ud-Darajat of As-Saffar, page 321 Hadith 10]

حدثنا محمد بن إسماعيل عن علي بن الحكم عن فضيل بن عثمان عن محمد بن شريح قال قال أبو عبد الله عليه السلام لولا أن الله فرض طاعتنا وولايتنا وامر مودتنا ما أوقفناكم على أبوابنا ولا أدخلناكم بيوتنا انا والله ما نقول بأهوائنا ولا نقول برأينا ولا نقول الا ما قال ربنا وأصول عندنا نكنزها كما يكنز هؤلاء ذهبهم و فضتهم

Hisham Ibn Salim reported that Imam As-Sadiq (a.) said: “My saying (hadith) is my father’s saying, my father’s saying is my grandfather’s saying, my grandfather’s saying is Husain’s saying (a. ), the saying of Husain (a.) is the saying of Hasan (a.), the saying of Hasan (a.) is the saying of Ali Ibn Abi Talib (a.), the saying of Ali Ibn Abi Talib (a.) is the saying of Muhammad (s.), the saying of Muhammad (s.) is the saying of God.” [Al-Kafi of Al-Kulaini, Volume 1 Page 53 Hadith 14]

Khalaf Ibn Hammad reported that Imam Al-Kazim (a.) said: “By God, i do not narrate anything to you unless it comes from Muhammad (s.), which in turn comes from Gabriel (a.) and which in turn comes from God.”Muhammad Baqir Al-Majlisi writes: “Authentic (Sahih).” [Al-Kafi of Al-Kulaini, volume 3 page 94 Hadith 1; Mir’at-ul-Uqul of Al-Majlisi, volume 13 page 231]

علي بن إبراهيم، عن أبيه، وعدة من أصحابنا، عن أحمد بن محمد بن خالد جميعا، عن محمد بن خالد، عن خلف بن حماد، ورواه أحمد أيضا، عن محمد بن أسلم، عن خلف بن حماد الكوفي قال: قال أبو الحسن موسى بن جعفر عليه السلام: والله إني ما أخبرك إلا عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله عن جبرئيل عن الله عز وجل. قال شيخ الإسلام المجلسي رضي الله عنه: صحيح

Dawud Ibn Sulaiman reported that Imam Al-Baqir (a.) said: “If I reported a saying (hadith), not having a chain attached to it, my chain goes back to my father, where it goes back to his grandfather, where it goes back to Muhammad (s.), where it goes back to Gabriel, where it goes back to God.” [Musnad Rida of Al Ghazi, page 14]

عن داود بن سليمان عن الباقر عليه السلام قال: إذا حدثت الحديث فلم أسنده فسندي فيه أبي عن جدي عن أبيه عن جده عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم عن جبرئيل عليه السلام عن الله عز وجل

Jabir reported that he said to Imam Al-Baqir (a.): “If you narrate a saying (hadith) to me, attach a chain to it for me.” He said: ” My father has narrated to me, who narrated from his grandfather, who narrated from Muhammad (s.), who narrated from Gabriel, who narrated from God, and everything I tell you goes back to this chain. O Jabir, a single utterance (hadith) that you take from a true one is better for you than this world and what is on it. Jabir reported that Imam Al-Baqir (a.) spoke about the verse “Be with the true ones.” (9:118) Said: “So with the family of Muhammad (a.).” [Bihar-ul-Anwar of Al-Majlisi, volume 2 page 148 Hadith 21; volume 24 page 31 Hadith 4]

مجالس المفيد: ابن قولويه، عن ابن عيسى، عن هارون بن مسلم، عن ابن أسباط، عن ابن عميرة، عن عمرو بن شمر، عن جابر قال: قلت لأبي جعفر عليه السلام: إذا حدثتني بحديث فأسنده لي، فقال: حدثني أبي، عن جده، عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله، عن جبرئيل عليه السلام، عن الله عز وجل. وكل ما أحدثك بهذا الإسناد، وقال: يا جابر لحديث واحد تأخذه عن صادق خير لك من الدنيا وما فيها وعن جابر الأنصاري عن الباقر عليه السلام في قوله وكونوا مع الصادقين أي مع آل محمد عليهم السلام
