Question:

Does As-Saduq confirm that Jesus (a.) died?

Answer:

Muhammad Ibn Ali As-Saduq writes:

“It is true that the Return (Raj’ah) took place in the former communities and the Messenger (s.) said: “In this community similar things will take place as in the former communities, as one shoe is like another and one arrow spring is like another.” Based on this foundation, the Return (Raj’ah) must also take place in this community and also our opponents (Mukhalif) report that Imam Al-Mahdi (a.) is going to the field when Jesus, the son of Mary (a.), descends and prays behind him and his coming to earth is his return (Raj’ah) to this world after his death, because God said: “I will cause you to die and lift you up to Me.” (3:55) [Al-I’tiqadat, page 20]
