Is a human being allowed to eat the meat of his own kind?

Answer:

Hisham Ibn Al-Hakam reported that Imam As-Sadiq (a.) said: “God created Adam (a.) from clay, so He declared the clay forbidden (haram) for His descendants.” [Bihar-ul-Anwar of Al-Majlisi, Volume 57 page 106 Hadith 6]

العلل عن أبيه عن سعد بن عبد الله عن أحمد بن محمد بن أبي عبد الله البرقي عن الحسن بن علي عن هشام بن الحكم عن أبي عبد الله عليه السلام قال: إن الله عز و جل خلق آدم من طين فحرم أكل الطين على ذريته

Companions of Ibn Faddal reported that one of the Imams (a.) said: “God created Adam (a.) from clay, so He declared the clay forbidden (Haram) for His children.” I said: “What do you say about the clay of the grave of Husain, the son of Ali (a.)?” He said: “He declared to the people the consumption of their flesh forbidden (Haram), but did He declare to them the consumption of our flesh as allowed (Halal)? However, the digestible that comes out of it, like the chickpeas.” [Wasa’il-ush-Shi’ah of Al-Amili, Volume 14 page 529 Hadith 19753]

محمد بن الحسن بإسناده عن أبي القاسم جعفر بن محمد عن محمد بن أحمد بن يعقوب عن علي بن الحسن بن فضال عن أبيه عن بعض أصحابه عن أحدهما عليهما السلام قال: إن الله تعالى خلق آدم من الطين فحرم الطين على ولده قال فقلت: ما تقول في طين قبر الحسين بن علي عليه السلام؟ فقال: يحرم على الناس أكل لحومهم ويحل لهم أكل لحومنا؟ ولكن اليسير منه مثل الحمصة

Abdullah Ibn Al-Hasan reported that Imam As-Sadiq (a.) said: “He who consumed the clay of Kufa consumed the flesh of the people, because Kufa was a thicket. After that its surroundings turned into a place of burial.” Ja’far As-Sadiq (a.) reported that the Prophet Muhammad (s.) said: “He who consumed the clay of Kufa is cursed.” [Ilal-ush-Shara’i of As-Saduq, page 520 Hadith 4]

حدثنا محمد بن الحسن قال: حدثنا محمد بن الحسن الصفار عن علي بن حسان الهاشمي قال: حدثنا عبد الله بن كثير عن يحيى بن عبد الله بن الحسن عن أبي عبد عليه السلام قال: من اكل طين الكوفة فقد أكل لحوم الناس لان الكوفة كانت أجمة، ثم كانت مقبرة ما حولها وقد قال أبو عبد الله عليه السلام قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله من اكل الطين فهو ملعون
