Abu l-Jarud reported that Imam Al-Baqir (a.) said: “As for the drink that leads to drunkenness (Khamr), it is anything that makes you drunk (Muskir). If it fermented, it is a drink that leads to drunkenness (Khamr) and if a lot of it led to drunkenness, little of it is forbidden (Haram).” [Al-Hada’iq of Al-Bahrani, Volume 5 page 113]

عن أبي الجارود عن الإمام الباقر عليه السلام قال: أما الخمر فكل مسكر من الشراب إذا أخمر فهو خمر وما أسكر كثيره فقليله حرام 

Hasan Ibn Ali reported that Imam As-Sadiq (a.) said: “As for any kind of permitted drinks, these are anything which in large amounts do not bring about a change in the intellect, because there is no problem in drinking them, and all of them which in large amounts bring about a change in the intellect are forbidden (Haram) even in small quantities.” [Al-Wasa’il of Al-Amili, Volume 17 page 62]

عن الحسن بن علي بن شعبة عن الإمام الصادق عليه السلام قال: وما يجوز من الأشربة من جميع صنوفها فما لم يغير العقل كثيره فلا بأس بشربه وكل شئ يغير منها العقل كثيره فالقليل منه حرام

Husain Al-Khuza’i reported that the Prophet Muhammad (s.) said: “The drink that leads to drunkenness (Khamr) is made from dates, grapes, raisins, honey, spelt and barley.” [Al-Mustadrak of An-Nuri, Volume 17, Page 37-38 Hadith 4]

عن حسين بن محمد عن حسين بن علي الخزاعي عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله أنه قال: إن من التمر لخمرا وإن من العنب لخمرا وإن من الزبيب لخمرا وإن من العسل لخمرا، وإن من الحنطة لخمرا، وإن من الشعير لخمرا

Nu’man Ibn Muhammad reported that Imam Zain-ul-Abidin (a.) said: “The drink that leads to drunkenness (Khamr) is made of five things: dates, raisins, spelt, barley, honey and grapes.” [Al-Mustadrak of An-Nuri, Volume 17 Page 37 Hadith 1]

عن حسين بن محمد عن نعمان بن محمد عن الإمام زين العابدين عليه السلام أنه قال: الخمر من خمسة أشياء: من التمر والزبيب والحنطة والشعير والعسل يعني بعد العنب

Ali Ibn Babawaih reported that Imam Ar-Rida (a.) said: “The drink that leads to drunkenness (Khamr) is forbidden in itself (Haram), as is any drink that makes one drunk. If much of it makes you drunk, then little of it is forbidden (Haram). It is of five kinds, like the juice of the grapevine, which is the cursed wine, wine made from raisins, mead made from honey, beer made from barley and other except that, and wine made from dates.” [Al-Mustadrak of An-Nuri, volume 17 page 37 Hadith 2]

عن حسين بن محمد عن علي بن بابويه عن الإمام الرضا عليه السلام أنه قال: الخمر حرام بعينها، والمسكر من كل شراب، فما أسكر كثيره فقليله حرام، ولها خمسة أسام: فالعصير من الكرم وهي الخمرة الملعونة، والنقيع من الزبيب، والبتع من العسل، والمزر من الشعير وغيره، والنبيذ من التمر

Ali Ibn Abi Talib (a.) reported that the Prophet Muhammad (s.) said: “Whoever drinks, no prayer is accepted from him for forty days and if he died while there was any of it in him, then God has the right to give him mud to drink, which drives one to madness and this is the pus of the inhabitants of the fire and what comes out of the intimate parts of the fornicators. So this accumulates in the pots of hell, so that the inhabitants of the fire drink it and thus the skin and their entrails are made to melt.” [Al-Bihar of Al-Majlisi, Volume 73 Page 330 Hadith 1]

عن علي بن أبي طالب عليهما السلام عن النبي صلى الله عليه وآله قال: من شربها لم تقبل له صلاة أربعين يوما وإن مات وفي بطنه شئ من ذلك كان حقا على الله أن يسقيه من طينة خبال، وهو صديد أهل النار وما يخرج من فروج الزناة فيجتمع ذلك في قدور جهنم فيشربها أهل النار فيصهر به ما في بطونهم والجلود
