It was reported by Salman Al-Muhammadi that he said: “The Messenger of God (s.) was given some plucked grapes outside of their season, whereupon he said to me: “O Salman, bring my two sons to me so that they may eat these grapes together with me.” So i set out to meet them at their mother’s house, but i did not see them. So i went to her sister Umm Kulthum’s apartment, but i did not see them. Then I came up and informed the Prophet (s.) about it. Then he became restless, jumped up and said: “O sons, O comfort of the eyes! Whoever leads me to these two is entitled to paradise by God.” Then Gabriel (a.) came down from heaven and said: “O Muhammad, why this worry?” To which he said: “Because of my two sons, Hasan and Husain, for i fear for them the deceit of the Jews.” Thus said Gabriel (a.): “O Muhammad! fear for them rather the deceit of the hypocrites, for their deceit is more grave and know, O Muhammad, that your two sons, Hasan and Husain, sleep in the Garden of Abu Dahdah. So the Messenger of God (s.) went to the garden immediately and without delay and i came with him until we entered the garden. There they were while the two of them were sleeping and one of them was embracing the other and a snake with a bunch of basil in its mouth fanning it on the faces of the two of them. When the snake saw the Prophet (s.), it spat out what it had in its mouth and said: “Peace be with you, O Messenger of God. I am not a snake, but an angel of the angels of God, the Karubi.I neglected for a moment to remember my Lord, whereupon my Lord was angry with me and turned me into a snake, as you see, and He threw me down from heaven to the earth. For many years i have been looking for someone honored by God to intercede for me with my Lord. Perhaps my Lord will have mercy on me and turn me back into an angel as i was in the beginning. He is the mighty power of all things.” Then the Prophet (s.) knelt down and kissed them until they awoke. So they sat down on the Prophet’s knees (s.) and he said to the two of them: “Behold, my sons! This is an angel of the angels of God, the Karubi. He neglected for a moment to remember his Lord. Then God made him so, and i demand of you to intercede with God. Intercede for him now.” Then Hasan (a.) and Husain (a.) jumped up, performed the ablution, prayed two bows and said: “God, by the right of our noble and dear grandfather Muhammad the Chosen and our father Ali the Chosen and our mother Fatimah the Radiant, bring him back to his former state.” As soon as their supplication was completed, Gabriel (a.) came down from Heaven with a multitude of angels and announced to that angel that God is pleased with him and that He will restore him to his previous form. Then they ascended with him into heaven while praising God. After that, Gabriel (a.) returned to the Prophet (s.) while he smiled and said: “O Messenger of God, that angel boasts before the angels of the seven heavens and says to them: “Who is like me, for whom the two masters, the two grandchildren Hasan and Husain, have made intercession?” [Al-Bihar of Al-Majlisi, volume 43, pages 313 – 314, hadith 73]

روي عن سلمان الفارسي قال: أهدي إلى النبي صلى الله عليه وآله قطف من العنب في غير أوانه فقال لي: يا سلمان ائتني بولدي الحسن والحسين ليأكلا معي من هذا العنب، قال سلمان الفارسي: فذهبت أطرق عليهما منزل أمهما فلم أرهما فأتيت منزل أختهما أم كلثوم فلم أرهما فجئت فخبرت النبي صلى الله عليه وآله بذلك فاضطرب ووثب قائما وهو يقول وا ولداه وا قرة عيناه من يرشدني عليهما فله على الله الجنة فنزل جبرئيل من السماء وقال: يا محمد علام هذا الانزعاج؟ فقال: على ولدي الحسن والحسين، فإني خائف عليهما من كيد اليهود، فقال جبرئيل: يا محمد بل خف عليهما من كيد المنافقين فإن كيدهم أشد من كيد اليهود، واعلم يا محمد أن ابنيك الحسن والحسين نائمان في حديقة أبي الدحداح فصار النبي صلى الله عليه وآله من وقته وساعته إلى الحديقة وأنا معه حتى دخلنا الحديقة وإذا هما نائمان وقد اعتنق أحدهما الاخر وثعبان في فيه طاقة ريحان يروح بها وجهيهما. فلما رأى الثعبان النبي صلى الله عليه وآله ألقى ما كان في فيه فقال: السلام عليك يا رسول الله لست أنا ثعبانا، ولكني ملك من ملائكة الله الكروبيين، غفلت عن ذكر ربي طرفة عين، فغضب علي ربي ومسخني ثعبانا كما ترى وطردني من السماء إلى الأرض وإني منذ سنين كثيرة أقصد كريما على الله فأسأله أن يشفع لي عند ربي عسى أن يرحمني ويعيدني ملكا كما كنت أولا إنه على كل شئ قدير. قال: فجثا النبي صلى الله عليه وآله يقبلهما حتى استيقظا فجلسا على ركبتي النبي صلى الله عليه وآله فقال لهما النبي صلى الله عليه وآله: انظرا يا ولدي هذا ملك من ملائكة الله الكروبيين، قد غفل عن ذكر ربه طرفة عين، فجعله الله هكذا وأنا مستشفع بكما إلى الله تعالى فاشفعا له، فوثب الحسن والحسين عليهما السلام فأسبغا الوضوء وصليا ركعتين وقالا: اللهم بحق جدنا الجليل الحبيب محمد المصطفى وبأبينا علي المرتضى وبأمنا فاطمة الزهراء، إلا ما رددته إلى حالته الأولى. قال: فما استتم دعاءهما فإذا بجبرئيل قد نزل من السماء في رهط من الملائكة، وبشر ذلك الملك برضى الله عنه، وبرده إلى سيرته الأولى ثم ارتفعوا به إلى السماء وهم يسبحون الله تعالى. ثم رجع جبرئيل إلى النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وهو متبسم وقال: يا رسول الله إن ذلك الملك يفتخر على ملائكة السبع السماوات ويقول لهم: من مثلي وأنا في شفاعة السيدين السبطين الحسن والحسين

Ubaidullah Ibn Abi Abdillah reported that Imam As-Sadiq (a.) said: “The Karubi are the people of our followers from the first creation. God placed them behind the throne. If He would distribute the light of one of them to the people of the earth, it would be enough for them.” Then He said: “When Moses (a.) asked His Lord what He asked Him for, He commanded one of the Karubi, whereupon He appeared to the mountain and made it crumble into rubble.” (7:143) [Al-Bihar of Al-Majlisi, Volume 13, Page 224, Hadith 18]

محمد بن الحسن الصفار عن أحمد بن محمد السياري عن عبيد بن أبي عبد الله الفارسي مرفوعا إلى جعفر بن محمد الصادق عليهما السلام قال: إن الكروبيين قوم من شيعتنا من الخلق الأول جعلهم الله خلف العرش لو قسم نور واحد منهم على أهل الأرض لكفاهم ثم قال: إن موسى عليه السلام لما أن سأل ربه ما سأل أمر واحدا من الكروبيين فتجلى للجبل فجعله دكا

Ali Ibn Musa Ibn Tawus reported that Fatimah Az-Zahra’ (a.) said: “God, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad and all Your angels, prophets and messengers. Peace be upon Gabriel, Michael, Raphael, the bearers of the throne, Your near angels, the noble scribes and the Karubi. Peace be upon all Your angels and peace be upon our father Adam and our mother Eve. Peace be upon all the prophets, the truthful, the martyrs and the righteous, and peace be upon all the messengers. Praise be to God, the Lord of the worlds. There is no power or might except through God, the High, the Mighty, and God is sufficient for me. What an excellent trustee. God bless Muhammad and his family and grant them abundant peace.” [Al-Bihar of Al-Majlisi, Volume 83, Page 88, Hadith 11]

علي بن موسى بن طاووس عن فاطمة الزهراء صلى الله عليها قالت: اللهم صل على محمد وآل محمد، وعلى جميع ملائكتك وأنبيائك ورسلك، سلام على جبرئيل وميكائيل وإسرافيل وحملة العرش وملائكتك المقربين، والكرام الكاتبين والكروبيين، وسلام على ملائكتك أجمعين، وسلام على أبينا آدم وعلى امنا حواء وسلام على النبيين أجمعين، والصديقين والشهداء والصالحين، وسلام على المرسلين أجمعين، والحمد لله رب العالمين، ولا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله العلي العظيم، وحسبي الله ونعم الوكيل، وصلى الله على محمد وآله وسلم كثيرا
