Muhammad Ibn Ali As-Saduq writes:

“God becomes angry when Fatimah (a.) becomes angry and He becomes satisfied when she becomes satisfied and she left this world while she was angry at both of her oppressors, expropriators and deniers of her inheritance (Abu Bakr and Umar) and the Prophet (s. ) said: “Fatimah is a part of me, whoever caused her harm caused me harm (33:57) and whoever caused her anger caused my anger and whoever caused her joy caused me joy.” He also said: “Fatimah is a part of me and she is my spirit between my two halves of the body. Whatever makes you miserable, it makes me miserable, and whatever makes you happy, it makes me happy.” We believe that the distancing (Bara’ah) from the four idols (Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman and Mu’awiyah) and the four women (A’ishah, Hafsah, Hind and Umm-ul-Hakam) and from all their supporters and followers is a obligation and that they are the worst of the creatures of God and the confession to God, His Messenger (s. ) and the Imams (a.) is not realized except through the distance (Bara’ah) from their enemies.” [Al-I’tiqadat, page 37]

“It is obligatory for one to distance (Bara’ah) to God from the four idols (Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman and Mu’awiyah) and the four women (A’ishah, Hafsah, Hind and Umm-ul-Hakam) and all their supporters and followers and to believe about them that they are the enemies of God and enemies of His Messenger (s. ), and that the confession of all that we have mentioned is not realized except through the distancing (Bara’ah) from them.” [Al-Hidayah, page 45 – 46]

Muhammad Baqir Al-Majlisi writes:
“Our belief in the distancing (Bara’ah) is that the hatred for the four idols Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman and Mu’awiyah and the four women A’ishah, Hafsah, Hind and Umm-ul-Hakam and all their supporters and followers is a obligation and they are the worst of the creatures of God and the confession to God and His Messenger (s. ) and the Imams (a.) is not realized except through the hatred of their enemies.” [Haqq-ul-Yaqin, page 325]

Muhammad Taqi Al-Majlisi writes:

“It is authentically (Sahih) reported from Husain Ibn Thawr and Abu Salamah that they said: “We heard Abu Abdillah (As-Sadiq) curse four men and four women after each prescribed (prayer): At-Taimi, Al-Adawi, Him and Mu’awiyah, and he called them by name.” Meaning: “He (a.) mentioned Abu Bakr, Umar and Uthman, but i avoided naming them.” And he cursed this and that. “By which A’ishah and Hafsah are meant.” And Hind and Umm-ul-Hakam, the sister of Mu’awiyah.” [Sharh-ul-Faqih, volume 2 page 380]
