Alqamah reported that he said to Imam As-Sadiq (a.): “O son of the Messenger of God, people are attributing monstrous things to us and this has caused pain in our chest.” He said: “O Alqamah, the pleasure of the people cannot be obtained, and their tongues cannot be restrained. How will you be safe from something from which not even the prophets of God, His messengers, and proofs (a.) were safe from?” [Al-Amali of As-Saduq, page 164, Hadith 163]

محمد بن علي عن علي بن الحسين عن علي بن محمد بن قتيبة عن حمدان ابن سليمان عن نوح بن شعيب عن محمد بن إسماعيل عن صالح بن عقبة عن علقمة بن محمد عن جعفر بن محمد الصادق عليهما السلام أنه قال له: يا بن رسول الله إن الناس ينسبوننا إلى عظائم الأمور وقد ضاقت بذلك صدورنا فقال عليه السلام: يا علقمة إن رضا الناس لا يملك وألسنتهم لا تضبط فكيف تسلمون مما لم يسلم منه أنبياء الله ورسله وحججه عليهم السلام

Salili Ibn Ahmad reported that Imam Ali (a.) said: “For the people they are disbelievers and with God they are righteous. To the people they are liars and with God they are honest. To the people they are unclean and with God they are pure. To the people they are cursed and with God they are innocent. To the people they are unjust and with God they are just. They have triumphed with the faith and the hypocrites have lost.” [Al-Malahim by Ibn Tawus, Volume 1, Page 268]

علي بن موسى بن جعفر بن طاووس عن السليلى بن أحمد بن عيسى عن علي بن أبي طالب عليهما السلام قال: هم عند الناس كفار وعند الله أبرار وعند الناس كاذبون وعند الله صادقون وعند الناس أرجاس وعند الله نظاف وعند الناس ملاعين وعند الله بارون وعند الناس ظالمون وعند الله عادلون فازوا بالايمان وخسر المنافقون

Ali Al-Hadi (a.) reported that Imam Ali (a.) said: “The believer does not wrong the one he hates and he does not sin for the sake of the one he likes. If he is wronged, he will wait until God makes him triumph.” [Al-Bihar of Al-Majlisi, Volume 64, Page 313, Hadith 47]

محمد بن الحسن بن علي بن الحسن عن جماعة عن أبي المفضل عن عبد الله ابن محمد بن عبيد عن علي بن محمد الهادي عن علي بن أبي طالب عليهم السلام قال: المؤمن لا يحيف على من يبغض ولا يأثم فيمن يحب وإن بغي عليه صبر حتى يكون الله عز وجل هو المنتصر له

Ja’far As-Sadiq (a.) reported that Prophet Muhammad (s.) said: “Shall I not teach you about the best traits of this world and the next? To forgive the one who wronged you, to connect with the one who has separated from you, to do good to the one who did evil to you, and to give to the one who denied you.” [Al-Kafi of Al-Kulaini, Volume 2, Page 107, Hadith 1]

علي بن إبراهيم عن إبراهيم بن هاشم عن محمد بن زياد بن عيسى عن عبد الله بن سنان عن جعفر بن محمد الصادق عليهما السلام عن النبي صلى الله عليه وآله قال: ألا أخبركم بخير خلائق الدنيا والآخرة العفو عمن ظلمك وتصل من قطعك والاحسان إلى من أساء إليك وإعطاء من حرمك

Hasan Ibn Ali reported that Jesus Christ (a.) said: “But if you want to be the ones whom God loves and purifies, do good to the one who has done evil to you, forgive the one who has done wrong to you and give peace to the one who has turned away from you. Listen to my word, keep my commandment, and guard my covenant, that you may be of those who have knowledge and understanding.” [Tuhaf-ul-Uqul of Al-Harrani, page 503]

الحسن بن علي بن شعبة عن السيد المسيح عليه السلام قال: ولكن إن أردتم أن تكونوا أحباء الله وأصفياء الله فأحسنوا إلى من أساء إليكم واعفوا عمن ظلمكم وسلموا على من أعرض عنكم اسمعوا قولي واحفظوا وصيتي وارعوا عهدي كيما تكونوا علماء فقهاء
