Ali Ibn Abi Talib (a.) reported that Prophet Muhammad (s.) said: “Whoever insults a prophet will be put to death and whoever insults the companion of a prophet will be flogged.” [Al-Wasa’il of Al-Amili, Volume 28, Page 213, Hadith 34591]

Ali ibn Abi Talib (a.) reported that Prophet Muhammad (s.) said: “Whoever insults a prophet will be killed and whoever insults my companions will be flogged.” [Al-Bihar of Al-Majlisi, Volume 76, Page 222, Hadith 7]

Muhammad ibn Musa reported that Musa ibn Nasr said: “Ar-Rida (a.) was asked about the saying of the Prophet (s.): “My companions are like the stars. You will be guided rightly whichever of them you follow.” And about his (s.) saying: “Do not bother my companions.” Then he said: “That is right. He means the one who did not bring in any distortions or changes after him.” One said: “How then does one find out that they have introduced distortions and changes?” He said: “By what they narrate, namely that he (s.) said: “Surely, on the Day of Resurrection, people of my companions will be driven away from my basin as the camels of others are driven away from the water. Then I will say: “My Lord, my companions, my companions.” Whereupon someone says to me: “You do not know what they have introduced after you.” Then they take them to the left, whereupon I say: “Away! To the devil with them.” Do you see now? This refers to the one who did not bring in distortions or changes.” [Al-Uyun of As-Saduq, Volume 1, Page 93, Hadith 33]

الحسين بن أحمد عن محمد بن يحيى عن محمد بن موسى عن موسى بن نصر قال: سئل الرضا عليه السلام عن قول النبي صلى الله عليه وآله أصحابي كالنجوم بأيهم اقتديتم اهتديتم، وعن قوله عليه السلام: دعوا لي أصحابي فقال عليه السلام: هذا صحيح يريد من لم يغير بعده ولم يبدل قيل: وكيف يعلم أنهم قد غيروا أو بدلوا قال: لما يروونه: من أنه صلى الله عليه وآله قال: ليذادن برجال من أصحابي يوم القيامة عن حوضي كما تذاد غرائب الإبل عن الماء فأقول: يا رب أصحابي أصحابي فيقال لي: إنك لا تدري ما أحدثوا بعدك فيؤخذ بهم ذات الشمال فأقول: بعدا وسحقا لهم أفترى هذا لمن لم يغير ولم يبدل

It has been narrated: “Umar went out one night in the month of Ramadan, whereupon he saw lamps in the mosque. So he said: “What is this?” Thereupon they said to him: “The people have gathered for the voluntary prayer.” Then he said: “An innovation and what a good innovation.” [Al-Bihar of Al-Majlisi, Volume 31, Page 7, Hadith 2]

قد روي أن عمر خرج في شهر رمضان ليلا فرأى المصابيح في المسجد، فقال: ما هذا فقيل له: إن الناس قد اجتمعوا لصلاة التطوع فقال: بدعة ونعمت البدعة

Ja’far As-Sadiq (a.) reported that Prophet Muhammad (s.) said: “When you see the people of doubt and innovation after me, distance yourselves from them, insult them frequently, speak about them alot, condemn them and astonish them often, lest they seek to corrupt Islam and so that people may beware of them and not learn from their innovations. God will write down good deeds for you in return and thereby elevate you by levels in the Hereafter.” [Al-Kafi of Al-Kulaini, Volume 2, Page 375, Hadith 4]

محمد بن يحيى عن محمد بن الحسين عن أحمد بن محمد بن أبي نصر عن داود ابن سرحان عن أبي عبد الله عليه السلام قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله: إذا رأيتم أهل الريب والبدع من بعدي فأظهر والبراءة منهم وأكثروا من سبهم والقول فيهم والوقيعة وباهتوهم كيلا يطمعوا في الفساد في الاسلام ويحذرهم الناس ولا يتعلمون من بدعهم يكتب الله لكم بذلك الحسنات ويرفع لكم به الدرجات في الآخرة

Dawud ibn Nu’man reported that Al-Kumait said to Imam As-Sadiq (a.): “I am asking you about the two men (Abu Bakr and Umar).” He said: “O Kumait Ibn Zaid, in Islam no drop of blood has been shed and no unlawful property has been acquired and no forbidden private part has been united with except that the two of them have it on their necks until the day of the appearance of our Riser (Qa’im) and we the children of Hashem order our elder and younger ones to insult the two of them and to distance themselves from them.” [Ad-Darajat of Al-Madani, page 573.]

داود بن نعمان عن الكميت أنه قال لجعفر بن محمد الصادق عليهما السلام: أسألك عن الرجلين (أبي بكر وعمر) فقال عليه السلام: يا كميت بن زيد ما أهريق في الإسلام محجمة دم ولا اكتسب مال من غير حله ولا نكح فرج حرام إلا وذلك في أعناقهما إلى يوم يقوم قائمنا ونحن بنو هاشم نأمر كبارنا وصغارنا بسبهما والبراءة منهما
