“Do not approach fornication. It is a shameful thing and an evil way.” [Al-Isra’ 17:32]

ولا تقربوا الزنى إنه كان فاحشة وساء سبيلا

Muhammad ibn Salim reported that Imam Al-Baqir (a.) said: “He sent down a prohibition of things, against which He warned and was not rude in them and did not threaten because of them and He said: ﴾Do not kill your children for fear of poverty. We provide for them and for you. Their killing is a grave transgression.﴿ (17:31) And: ﴾Do not approach fornication. It is a shameful thing and an evil way.﴿ (17:32) [Bihar-ul-Anwar of Al-Majlisi, Vol. 66, page 87, Hadith 30]

محمد بن يعقوب عن علي بن محمد عن بعض أصحابه عن آدم بن إسحاق عن عبد الرزاق بن مهران عن الحسين بن ميمون عن محمد بن سالم عن محمد بن علي الباقر عليه السلام قال: وأنزل نهيا عن أشياء حذر عليها ولم يغلظ فيها ولم يتواعد عليها وقال ولا تقتلوا أولادكم خشية إملاق نحن نرزقهم وإياكم إن قتلهم كان خطأ كبيرا ولا تقربوا الزنا إنه كان فاحشة وساء سبيلا

Ziyad ibn Mundhir reported that Imam Al-Baqir (a.) said about the verse ﴾Do not approach fornication. It is a shameful thing﴿ (17:32) said: “A disobedience and an abomination. Therefore God detests and hates it. He said: ﴾And an evil way.﴿ Amongst mankind one is punished the most severely and fornication is one of the grave sins.” [Bihar-ul-Anwar of Al-Majlisi, Volume 76, Page 19, Hadith 5]

علي بن إبراهيم عن زياد بن المنذر عن محمد بن علي الباقر عليه السلام في قوله تعالى ولا تقربوا الزنا إنه كان فاحشة يقول: معصية ومقتا فان الله يمقته ويبغضه قال وساء سبيلا هو أشد الناس عذابا والزنا من أكبر الكبائر

Muhammad As-Sabzawari reported that Prophet Muhammad (s.) said: “Every limb of the son of Adam has a share in fornication: thus the fornication of the eyes is the look, the fornication of the tongue is the speech, the fornication of the ears is the hearing, the fornication of the hands is the grip and the fornication of the feet is the walk and the private part believed in all that and denied it.” [Mustadrak-ul-Wasa’il, Volume 14, Page 269, Hadith 16681]

حسين بن محمد عن محمد السبزواري عن النبي صلى الله علي وآله قال: لكل عضو من ابن آدم حظ من الزنى فالعين زناه النظر واللسان زناه الكلام والأذنان زناهما السمع واليدان زناهما البطش والرجلان زناهما المشي والفرج يصدق ذلك كله ويكذبه
