“God does not love the publishing of evil words.” [An-Nisa’ 4:148]

لا يحب الله الجهر بالسوء من القول

Muhammad Al-Baqir (a.) reported that Prophet Muhammad (s.) said: “Do not insult the people, whereby you make enmity between them.” [Al-Kafi of Al-Kulaini, Vol. 2, page 360]

عن أبي جعفر الباقر عليه السلام عن الرسول صلى الله عليه وآله قال: لا تسبوا الناس فتكتسبوا العداوة بينهم

Muhammad ibn Husain reported that Imam Ali (a. ) said: “I consider it frowned upon (Makruh) for you, to be increasingly insulting, but had you described their deeds and mentioned their condition, it would have been a more appropriate word and a more successful justification and you would have said instead of your insult towards them: “O God, preserve our blood and theirs, and make peace between us and them and guide them aright from their misguidance, until he recognizes the truth, in which he was ignorant of and he turns away from the misguidance and enmity, in which he was persistent.” [Nahj-ul-Balaghah of Ar-Radi, volume 2, page 185]

عن محمد بن الحسين عن الإمام علي عليه السلام قال: إني أكره لكم أن تكونوا سبابين ولكنكم لو وصفتم أعمالهم وذكرتم حالهم كان أصوب في القول وأبلغ في العذر وقلتم مكان سبكم إياهم اللهم احقن دماءنا ودماءهم وأصلح ذات بيننا وبينهم، واهدهم من ضلالتهم حتى يعرف الحق من جهله ويرعوي عن الغي والعدوان من لهج به

“God does not love the publication of evil words, except when one does wrong and God is hearing and knowing.” [An-Nisa’ 4:148]

لا يحب الله الجهر بالسوء من القول إلا من ظلم وكان الله سميعا عليما

Muhammad ibn Mas’ud reported that Imam As-Sadiq (a.) said about the verse: “God does not love the publication of evil words, except when one does wrong.” (4:148) Said: “Whoever was a guest of the people and behaved badly towards their hospitality, he is one of those, who did wrong and therefore they do not sin, because of what they said about him.” [Al-Hada’iq-un-Nadirah of Al-Bahrani, Volume 18, Page 261]

عن محمد بن مسعود عن الإمام الصادق عليه السلام في قوله تعالى لا يحب الله الجهر بالسوء من القول إلا من ظلم قال: من أضاف قوما فأساء ضيافتهم فهو ممن ظلم فلا جناح عليهم فيما قالوا فيه

Abu l-Jarud reported that Imam As-Sadiq (a.) said: “The publication of evil words consists in, mentioning someone with what is true of himself.” [Tafsir-ul-Ayyashi, volume 1, page 283]

عن أبي الجارود عن الإمام الصادق عليه السلام قال: الجهر بالسوء من القول أن يذكر الرجل بما فيه

Fadl ibn Hasan reported that Imam Al-Baqir (a.) said: “God does not love insulting for revenge, except when one does wrong (4:148), so there is no problem in retaliating against the one who wronged you by what the religion allows in terms of retaliation.” [Kanz-ud-Daqa’iq of Al-Mashhadi, Volume 2, Page 667]

عن الفضل بن الحسن عن الإمام الباقر عليه السلام قال: لا يحب الله الشتم في الانتصار إلا من ظلم فلا بأس له أن ينتصر ممن ظلمه بما يجوز الانتصار به في الدين

Taqi Ibn Najm reported that Hajar Al-Bajali said: “I had doubts about the two men. Therefore, I went to Medina and heard Abu Ja’far (Al-Baqir) say: “The first to oppress us, to deprive us of our rights and to set people on our necks were Abu Bakr and Umar.” [Bihar-ul-Anwar of Al-Majlisi, volume 30, page 383]

عن محمد بن محمد عن تقي بن نجم عن حجر البجلي قال: شككت في أمر الرجلين، فأتيت المدينة فسمعت أبا جعفر عليه السلام يقول إن أول من ظلمنا وذهب بحقنا وحمل الناس على رقابنا أبو بكر وعمر

Dawud ibn Nu’man reported that Al-Kumait said to Imam As-Sadiq (a.): “I ask you about the two men (Abu Bakr and Umar).” He said: “O Kumait Ibn Zaid, in Islam no drop of blood has been shed and no unlawful property has been acquired and no forbidden part of shame has been united with except that the two have it on their necks until the day of the appearance of our Riser (Qa’im) and we the Children of Hashem order our elder and younger to insult the two and to distance ourselves from them.” [Ad-Darajat-ur-Rafi’ah of Al-Madani, page 573]

عن داود بن نعمان عن الكميت قال للإمام الصادق عليه السلام: أسألك عن الرجلين (أبي بكر وعمر) فقال عليه السلام: يا كميت بن زيد ما أهريق في الإسلام محجمة دم ولا اكتسب مال من غير حله ولا نكح فرج حرام إلا وذلك في أعناقهما إلى يوم يقوم قائمنا ونحن بنو هاشم نأمر كبارنا وصغارنا بسبهما والبراءة منهما

Ja’far As-Sadiq (a.) reported that Prophet Muhammad (s.) said: “When you see the people of doubt and innovation after me, then distance yourselves from them, insult them frequently, talk about them many times, pick on them frequently and amaze them, lest they seek to corrupt Islam and so that the people will be wary of them and will not learn from their innovations. God will credit you with good deeds in return and thereby raise you by degrees in the Hereafter.” [Al-Kafi of Al-Kulaini, volume 2, page 375]

محمد بن يحيى, عن محمد بن الحسين, عن أحمد بن محمد بن أبي نصر, عن داود ابن سرحان, عن أبي عبد الله عليه السلام قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله: إذا رأيتم أهل الريب والبدع من بعدي فأظهر والبراءة منهم وأكثروا من سبهم والقول فيهم والوقيعة وباهتوهم كيلا يطمعوا في الفساد في الاسلام ويحذرهم الناس ولا يتعلمون من بدعهم يكتب الله لكم بذلك الحسنات ويرفع لكم به الدرجات في الآخرة
