Qur’an:

“Do you not see those, who have been given a share of the Book? They believe in the idol and transgressor (Taghut) and say to those, who disbelieve: “These are even more rightly guided of the Way than those, who believe.” [An-Nisa’ 4:51]

Sunnah:

Buraid ibn Mu’awiyah reported that he asked Imam Al-Baqir (a.) about the verse: “Obey God and obey the Messenger and those who have authority among you.” (4:59) He said: “Did you not see those, who were given a share of the Book? They believe in the idol and transgressor (Taghut), in this one (Abu Bakr) and that one (Umar) and say to those who disbelieve: “These are even more rightly guided of the Way than those, who believe.” The misguided Imams and those who call to the Hellfire say: “These are more rightly guided in the Way than the family of Muhammad and the guardians of them. And: “These are they, whom God has cursed and whomever God curses, for him you will find no helper. Or do they have any share in the kingship?” (4:51-53) By which is meant leadership (Imamah) and successorship (Khilafah).” [Tafsir Al-Ayyashi, Volume 1 page 246 Hadith 153]
