From al-Halabi, from Abi `Abdallah (a),that he was asked about a woman, who cooks and fasts and tastes the soup in the cooking pot. He (a) said: “No problem.” He (al-Halabi) said, that he (a) was asked about a woman, who has a child and she is fasting, whether she is allowed to chew bread and feed it [the child]. So he (a) said: “No problem. So it is also in the case of a young bird, that belongs to her.” [Al-Kafi, Vol. 4, p. 69, Hadith 1]

From Hammad ibn `Uthman it was said, that Ibn Abi Ya`fur asked Aba `Abdallah (a), that he heard, that a fasting person can pour medicine in his ear. He (a) said: “Yes, and he can taste the soup and chew [bread] for the young bird.” [Wasa’il-ush-Shi’ah, vol. 10, p. 106, hadith 12973]

From Muhammad ibn Muslim, from Abi Ja`far (a): “There is no problem, if a fasting person tastes the cooking pot [what is in it].” [al-Istibsar, Vol. 2, page 328, Hadith 1]

`Ali ibn Ja`far from his brother Musa (a) [al-Kadhim], who said: “I asked him about a fasting person, who tastes the drink or the food until he finds the food in his throat.” He (a) said: “Do not do that.” I said: “And if he does so, what is required from him?” He (a) said: “There is nothing [on him], nor does he have to repeat it [the fast].” [Wasa’il-ush-Shi’ah, Volume 10, Page 106, Hadith 12975]

From al-Husayn ibn Ziyad who said: Abu Abdallah (a) said: “There is no problem for a fasting cook and female cook, to taste the broth [soup].” [Al-Kafi, Vol. 4, p. 69, Hadith 2]
