Muhammad Ibn Ahmad Adh-Dhahabi writes: “The noble awaited one, Abu l-Qasim, Muhammad, son of Hasan Al-Askari, son of Ali Al-Hadi, son of Muhammad Al-Jawad, son of Ali Ar-Rida, son of Musa Al-Kazim, son of Ja’far As-Sadiq, son of Muhammad Al-Baqir, son of Ali Zain-ul-Abidin, son of the martyr Husain, son of Ali, son of Abu Talib, the Alide, the Husainite, the last of the twelve masters, about whom the Imamites claim their infallibility and none has the infallibility except the Prophet and about this Muhammad they claim that he is the successor and proof and ruler of the time and master of the underground of Samarra and that he is alive and will not die until he goes out and fills the earth with equality and justice to the extent that it was filled with injustice and transgression before. قال الشيخ محمد بن أحمد الذهبي: المنتظر الشريف أبو القاسم محمد بن الحسن العسكري ابن علي الهادي ابن محمد الجواد ابن علي الرضى ابن موسى الكاظم ابن جعفر الصادق ابن محمد الباقر ابن زين العابدين بن علي بن الحسين الشهيد ابن الإمام علي بن أبي طالب, العلوي الحسيني خاتمة الاثني عشر سيدا, الذين تدعي الإمامية عصمتهم ولا عصمة إلا لنبي ومحمد هذا هو الذي يزعمون أنه الخلف الحجة, وأنه صاحب الزمان, وأنه صاحب السرداب بسامراء, وأنه حي لا يموت, حتى يخرج, فيملأ الأرض عدلا وقسطا, كما ملئت ظلما وجورا فوددنا ذلك والله

Muhammad Ibn Ahmad Adh-Dhahabi writes: “As for his son, Muhammad son of Hasan whom the Shiites call the rising successor and proof, he was born in the year 58 and they say: “In the year 56.” He remained alive for two years after his father. After that he was lost and they never found out how he died and his mother is Umm Walad, but they claim that he remained underground for 450 years and he was the master of time and alive and possessed the knowledge of the earlier and later and they confess that no one ever got to see him and so we ask God to strengthen our reason and faith.” [Tarikh-ul-Islam, vol. 19, page 113]

قال الشيخ محمد بن أحمد الذهبي: وأما بنه محمد بن الحسن الذي يدعوه الرافضة القائم الخلف الحجة فولد سنة ثمان وخمسين وقيل سنة ست وخمسين عاش بعد أبيه سنتين ثم عدم ولم يعلم كيف مات وأمه أم ولد وهم يدعون بقاءه في السرداب من أربعمائة وخمسين سنة وأنه صاحب الزمان وأنه حي يعلم علم الأولين والآخرين ويعترفون أن أحدا لم يره أبدا فنسأل الله أن يثبت علينا عقولنا وإيماننا

Muhammad Ibn Ahmad Adh-Dhahabi writes: “In that (year 265) there died Ibrahim ibn Al-Harith Al-Baghdadi and Ibrahim ibn Hani’ An-Naisaburi and Sa’dan ibn Nasr Al-Makhrami and Salih ibn Ahmad Ibn Hanbal and Ali ibn Harb and Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn Ayyub Al-Makhrami and Al-Qudwah and Abu Hafs An-Naisaburi and Harun Ibn Sulaiman and the awaited Muhammad son of Al-Hasan, but the Shiites say: “He did not die but kept himself hidden underground.” [Siyar A’lami n-Nubala’, Vol. 12, page 391]

قال محمد بن أحمد الذهبي: وفيها (سنة ٢٦٥) مات إبراهيم بن الحارث البغدادي, وإبراهيم بن هانئ النيسابوري وسعدان بن نصر المخرمي وصالح بن أحمد بن حنبل, وعلي بن حرب, وعبد الله بن محمد بن أيوب المخرمي, والقدوة أبو حفص النيسابوري, وهارون بن سليمان,والمنتظر محمد بن الحسن, والرافضة تقول: لم يمت, بل اختفى في السرداب

Muhammad Ibn Ahmad Adh-Dhahabi writes: “In that (year 265 died) Muhammad the son of Al-Hasan Al-Askari, the son of Ali Al-Hadi, the son of Muhammad Al-Jawad, the son of Ali Ar-Rida, the son of Musa Al-Kazim, the son of Ja’far As-Sadiq, who is the descendant of Ali and Al-Husain, the father of Al-Qasim, whom the Shi’ites call the succeeding proof and whom they call the Rightly Guiding and the Awaited and the Commander of Time and he is the last of the Twelve and the mistake of the Shi’ites is regarding that which is beyond that, because they claim that he entered the underground in Samarra and is in hiding until now and when they lost him, his age was nine years or less.” [Al-Ibar Fi Khabar Man Ghabar, Volume 1, Page 381]
