Abu Hamzah reported, that Imam Al-Baqir (a.) said:,,The Messenger of God (s.) said: ﴾The saved ones from the men are a minority and from the women even less and less.﴿ Hereupon one said: ﴾Why is that, o Messenger of God?﴿ He said: ﴾Because they disbelieve out of anger and believe out of contentment.﴿” [Al-Kafi of Al-Kulaini, Volume 5, Page 311, Hadith 1]

عدة من أصحابنا، عن أحمد بن محمد بن خالد، عن أبيه، عن محمد بن سنان، عن عمرو بن مسلم، عن الثمالي، عن أبي جعفر عليه السلام قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله: الناجي من الرجال قليل ومن النساء أقل وأقل، قيل: ولم يا رسول الله؟ قال: لأنهن كافرات الغضب مؤمنات الرضا

Muhammad ibn Ali reported, that the Messenger (s.) passed by some women: ,,Hereupon he stopped and said: ﴾O you women, I did not see any people of deficient reason and religion, that make reasonable people lose their minds more than you. I saw, that you are in the majority on the Day of Resurrection as inhabitants of the fire, so come close to God as you are able.﴿ At this, a woman of them said: ﴾What is the deficiency of our religion and reason? ﴿ He said: ﴾As for the lack of your religion, it is the bleeding, that afflicts you and lasts with one of you for as long, as God willed, neither performing prayer nor participating in fasting and as for the lack of your reason, it is your testimony. The testimony of the woman is only half of the testimony of the man.﴿” [Al-Faqih of As-Saduq, Volume 3, Page 391, Hadith 4375]

عن محمد بن علي عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله أنه مر على نسوة فوقف عليهن ثم قال: يا معاشر النساء ما رأيت نواقص عقول ودين أذهب بعقول ذوي الألباب منكن إني قد رأيت أنكن أكثر أهل النار يوم القيامة فتقربن إلى الله عز وجل ما استطعتن فقالت امرأة منهن: يا رسول الله ما نقصان ديننا وعقولنا؟ فقال: أما نقصان دينكن فالحيض الذي يصيبكن فتمكث إحداكن ما شاء الله لا تصلي ولا تصوم، وأما نقصان عقولكن فشهادتكن، إنما شهادة المرأة نصف شهادة الرجل

Jabir Al-Ju’fi reported, that Imam Al-Baqir (a.) said: ,,The Messenger of God (s.) went out to the back of Medina on the Feast of Sacrifice, sitting on a camel, whose body was not covered. Hereupon he passed by the women and stopped by them. After that he said: ﴾O you women, spend and obey your partners, for the majority of you are in the fire.﴿ When they heard this, they wept. Then a woman of them came before him and said: ﴾O Messenger of God, in the fire with the disbelievers? By God, we are not disbelievers, so that we should be among the inhabitants of the Fire.﴿ Then God’s Messenger (s.) said to her: ﴾You are disbelievers in the right of your partners.﴿” [Al-Kafi of Al-Kulaini, Volume 5, page 310 – 311, Hadith 3]

محمد بن يحيى، عن أحمد بن محمد، عن ابن محبوب، عن عبد الله بن غالب، عن جابر الجعفي، عن أبي جعفر عليه السلام قال: خرج رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله يوم النحر إلى ظهر المدينة على جمل عاري الجسم فمر بالنساء فوقف عليهن ثم قال: يا معاشر النساء تصدقن وأطعن أزواجكن فإن أكثركن في النار فلما سمعن ذلك بكين، ثم قامت إليه امرأة منهن فقالت: يا رسول الله في النار مع الكفار؟! والله ما نحن بكفار فنكون من أهل النار، فقال لها رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله: إنكن كافرات بحق أزواجكن

Muhammad Baqir Al-Majlisi writes: ,,Authentic (Sahih).” [Mir’at-ul-Uqul, Volume 20, page 329]

قال الشيخ محمد باقر المجلسي: صحيح

Abu Basir reported, that Imam As-Sadiq (a.) said: ,,The Messenger (s.) of God addressed the women and said: ﴾O you women, spend, even if it is from your jewelry, even if it is a date, even if it is a piece of date, for the majority of you are firewood for Hell. You curse much and are disbelieving towards the relatives.﴿ Hereupon a wise woman from the sons of Sulaim said: ﴾O Messenger of God, are we not the mothers, the pregnant women and the nursing women? Do not the supportive daughters and compassionate sisters come from us?﴿ Hereupon the Messenger of God (s.) took pity on her and said: ﴾Pregnant and nursing merciful mothers. Were it not, for what they inflict on their partners, not a single praying woman of them would enter the Fire.﴿” [Al-Kafi of Al-Kulaini, Volume 5, page 310, Hadith 2]

محمد بن يحيى، عن أحمد بن محمد، عن علي بن الحكم، عن علي بن أبي حمزة، عن أبي بصير قال: سمعت أبا عبد الله عليه السلام يقول: خطب رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله النساء فقال: يا معاشر النساء تصدقن ولو من حليكن ولو بتمرة ولو بشق تمرة فإن أكثركن حطب جهنم إنكن تكثرن اللعن وتكفرن العشيرة فقالت امرأة من بني سليم لها عقل: يا رسول الله أليس نحن الأمهات الحاملات المرضعات، أليس منا البنات المقيمات والأخوات المشفقات فرق لها رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله فقال: حاملات والدات مرضعات رحيمات، لولا ما يأتين إلى بعولتهن ما دخلت مصلية منهن النار

Muhammad Taqi Al-Majlisi writes: ,,Trustworthy (Muwaththaq).” [Sharh-ul-Faqih, Volume 8, page 107]

قال المولى محمد تقي المجلسي: الموثق

Al-Fudail reported, that he said to Imam As-Sadiq (a.): ,,There is something, which the people say: ﴾The majority of the inhabitants of the Fire are women on the Day of Resurrection.﴿” He said: ,,How is that? It may be, that someone in the Hereafter will enter into partnership with a thousand of the women of this world in a castle consisting of one pearl.” [Al-Faqih of As-Saduq, Volume 3, Page 306, Hadith 4627]

وروى الفضيل عن أبي عبد الله عليه السلام قال: قلت له شئ يقوله الناس إن أكثر أهل النار يوم القيامة النساء، قال: وأني ذلك وقد يتزوج الرجل في الآخرة ألفا من نساء الدنيا في قصر من درة واحدة

Muhammad Taqi Al-Majlisi writes: ,,Al-Fudail narrated it just as strongly (Qawi), as it is authentic (Sahih). The Imam (a.) said: ﴾How is that?﴿ By which is meant: ﴾When and how will that be, the circumstance being such, that it may come to partnership?﴿ It is conceivable that the distancing is in response to his saying: ﴾The majority of the inhabitants of the Fire are women.﴿ Whereas that is not the case, but the majority of the women are dwellers of the Fire, as it preceded and between the two statements there is a huge difference or Al-Fudail thought that not a single woman enters Paradise or only a minority, whereupon he removed his assumption by saying that many women enter Paradise.” [Sharh-ul-Faqih, volume 8, page 515]

قال المولى محمد تقي المجلسي: وروى الفضيل في القوي كالصحيح قال وأني ذلك أي متى يكون ذلك وكيف يكون والحال أنه قد يتزوج يمكن أن يكون الاستبعاد باعتبار أنه قال: أكثر أهل النار النساء وليس كذلك بل أكثر النساء أهل النار كما تقدم وبينهما بون عظيم أو توهم الفضيل أنه لا يدخل الجنة من النساء أحد أو إلا قليل فرفع وهمه بأنه يدخل منهن كثير

Hamzah Ibn Tayyar reported, that Imam As-Sadiq (a.) said: ,,All people are in three divisions: Faith (Iman), disbelief (Kufr) and misguidance (Dalal) and they are the people who have been promised two things, those to whom God promised Paradise and Fire: the believers, disbelievers and those considered weak (Mustad’af) and those left to the decree of God, whom He either punishes or has mercy on them and the confessors to their sins, who mixed a good deed with a bad one and the people of the height.” [Al-Kafi of Al-Kulaini, Volume 2, Page 215, Hadith 2]

علي بن إبراهيم، عن محمد بن عيسى بن عبيد، عن يونس، عن حماد، عن حمزة بن الطيار قال: قال أبو عبد الله عليه السلام: الناس على ست فرق يؤولون كلهم إلى ثلاث فرق: الايمان والكفر والضلال، وهم أهل الوعدين الذين وعدهم الله الجنة والنار المؤمنون والكافرون والمستضعفون والمرجون لأمر الله إما يعذبهم وإما يتوب عليهم والمعترفون بذنوبهم خلطوا عملا صالحا وآخر سيئا وأهل الأعراف

Ammar As-Sabati reported that Imam As-Sadiq (a.) said: ,,The majority of the inhabitants of Paradise from those who are considered weak (Mustad’af) are women. God knew of their weakness and had mercy on them.” [Al-Faqih of As-Saduq, Volume 3, Page 306, Hadith 4628]

وروى عمار الساباطي عن أبي عبد الله عليه السلام قال: أكثر أهل الجنة من المستضعفين النساء، علم الله عز وجل ضعفهن فرحمهن

Muhammad Taqi Al-Majlisi writes: ,,Ammar As-Sabati narrated it trustworthily (Muwaththaq). The women are the predicate for majority, by which is meant the majority of those with weak reason, who enter Paradise, so there is no contradiction with the majority of women entering the Fire.” [Sharh-ul-Faqih, volume 8, page 515 – 516]

قال المولى محمد تقي المجلسي: وروى عمار الساباطي في الموثق النساء خبر الأكثر أي أكثر ضعفاء العقول الذين يدخلون الجنة فلا ينافي أن يدخل أكثرهن النار

Comment:

The texts does not reveal, how many women are in hell. Also if there are 1 million males and 3milion females, obviously it is easier for women to be majority in hellfire. Hence, we can not conclude women to be some evil creatures and men to be more superior.
