Imam Ali (a.) said:,,The Messenger of God (s.) came in to us and Fatima (a.) was sitting at the cooking pot and I was cleaning the lentils. He then said: ,,O Abu l-Hasan” I said: ,,I am at your service, o Messenger of God.” He said: ,,Listen to me and I only say what my Lord has commanded me. There is no man, who helps his wife in her house except, that he gets (a reward) for every hair on his body as if he had performed a year of worship of which he fasted during the day and stayed awake during the night and God gives him the same reward as He gave to the patient ones, David the Prophet, Yaqub and Jesus, peace be upon them. O Ali, he who is at the service of the family in the house and does not reject it because of pride, then God, exalted is He, writes his name in the register of martyrs and God writes down for him for every day and for every night the reward of a thousand martyrs and for every step a pilgrimage and God, exalted is He, gives him for every vein on his body a city in Paradise. O Ali, one moment in the service of the family is better than a thousand years of worship and a thousand pilgrimages and better than freeing a thousand slaves, a thousand war campaigns, a thousand visitations to the sick, a thousand Friday prayers, a thousand funeral processions, a thousand feeding the hungry, clothing a thousand naked, lining a thousand horses in the path of God and it is better for him than donating a thousand dinars to the poor and it is better for him than the Torah, the Bible, the Psalms and to read the differentiation and to free thousand prisoners of war whom he has captured and it is better for him than to slaughter thousand cows and camels in Mecca for the poor and he does not leave this world without seeing his place in Paradise. O Ali, he who is of service to the family in the house and does not reject on the basis of pride, enters Paradise without accountability. O Ali, serving the family is atonement for the great sins and extinguishes the wrath of the Lord and is the morning gift for the women of Paradise and he increases his good deeds and rises higher in the ranks. O Ali, only the lover of truth, the martyr and the man with whom God intends good in this world and the hereafter is at the service of the family.” [Jami’ al-Akhbar Volume 1 Page 102]

Imam As-Sadiq (a.) said: ,,Umm Salamah asked the Prophet (s.) about the excellence of women in serving their husbands.” He (s.) said: ,,There is no woman, who carries anything from one place to another in the house of her husband while having wellbeing in her mind, except that God will look at her. Whoever God has looked at, He does not punish.” Umm Salamah (r.) said: ,,May my father and mother be sacrificed for you, tell me more about the reward of humble women.” He (s.) said: ,,O Umm Salamah, when the woman becomes pregnant, the reward is due to her, like of someone who with his own self and possessions, made the effort in the way of God.” When she gives birth, she is told: ,,You have been forgiven for your sins, start your deeds all over again.” When she breastfeeds her child, she will be awarded for each breastfeeding, the reward like helping a slave to be freed from the children of Isma`īl.” [Al-Amali of At-Tusi, page 618, Hadith 1273]

Ibn Al-Qaddah reported that Imam As-Sadiq (a.) said: ,,The wife of Uthman Ibn Maz’un came to the Prophet Muhammad (s.) and said: ,,O Messenger of God, Uthman is fasting all day and is in prayer all night.” Thereupon the Messenger (s.) went on his way in anger, wearing his sandals, until he came to Uthman and found him at prayer. When Uthman saw the Messenger, he finished it and he said to him: ,,O Uthman, God did not send me with monasticism, but He sent me with pure, easy and merciful faith. I fast and I pray and I associate with my wife. Whoever loves my natural way of life, let him follow my Sunnah, and my Sunnah includes intercourse.” [Al-Kafi of Al-Kulaini, Volume 5 page 299 Hadith 1]

Imam Ali (a.) said: ,,Uthman Ibn Maz’un came to the Messenger of God (s.) and said: ,,O Messenger of God.” Until he then said: ,,I have decided, to forbid myself khawlah.” By which he meant his wife. He (s.) said: ,,Do not do that, O Uthman, for if the believing servant would take the hand of his partner, then God would write down ten good deeds for him and erase ten bad deeds for him. If he kissed her, then God wrote down for him a hundred good deeds and erased from him a hundred bad deeds. When he had intercourse with her, God wrote down a thousand good deeds for him and erased a thousand bad deeds for him and the angels went into her presence. When the two perform full body washing (ghusl), the water does not flow over a single hair of each of them, except that God wrote down a good deed for them for this one and erased a bad deed for them for that one. If this took place on a cold night, then God said to the angels: ﴾Look at these two servants of Mine who washed themselves on that cold night, while they knew that I am their Lord. I will let you testify that I have forgiven them both.﴿ If a child is born from their sexual act, it will be at their service in Paradise.” After that, the Messenger of God (s.a.) tapped his hand on the chest of ʿUthmān ibn Maẓʿūn (r.a.) and said: ,,O Uthman, do not stay away from my custom [Sunnah], for whoever stayed away from my custom, the angels opposed him on the Day of Resurrection and turned his face away from my pool.” [Mustadrak-ul-Wasāʾil, Volume 14, page 151]

A man came to the Messenger (s.) of God and said: ,,I have a partner, who welcomes me when I come in and accompanies me when I go out and when she sees me worried, she says: ,,What is worrying you? If your provision worries you, someone other than you has already taken care of it and if the matter of your hereafter worries you, may God increase your worry.” Hereupon the Messenger of God (s.) said: ,,God has his doers and this one belongs to His doers. To her belongs the half of the reward of a martyr.” [Wasail-ush-Shi’ah, Volume 20, Page 32, Hadith 24954]

Imam al-Baqir (a.) said: ,,Whichever woman would serve her partner for seven days, to her God would close seven gates to Hell and to her He would open eight gates to Paradise, which she would enter by any (door) she wishes.” [Wasail-ush-Shiah, Volme 20, page172]
