Muhammad Al-Hurr Al-Amili writes:

Chapter: The extent of the journey, which negates the unblemishness (Ihsan)

1/34242 – Muhammad Ibn Ya’qub reported from Ali Ibn Ibrahim who reported from his father who reported from Abd-ur-Rahman Ibn Hammad that Umar Ibn Yazid said: ,,I said to Abu Abdillah (As-Sadiq): ,,Teach me about the one who is absent from his relatives and commits adultery. Will he be stoned if he had a partner and was absent from her?” He said: ,,He who is absent from his relatives will not be stoned, nor will the traveller who was not with his loved one be stoned, nor the one who is in a temporary partnership (Mut’ah).” I said: ,,To what extent of his journey is he not unblemished (Muhsan)?” He said: ,,If he shortened (prayer) and broke (fasting), he is not unblemished.” And the scholar (At-Tusi) narrated it with his chain to Ali Ibn Ibrahim and Al-Barqi narrated it in Al-Mahasin from his father who narrated the same to Abd-ur-Rahman Ibn Hammad.

2/34243 – And Muhammad Ibn Yahya reported back (Marfu’) from Muhammad Ibn Husain that he said: ,,To what extent of the journey was he not blameless (muhsan), the one who was not stoned to death, when he committed fornication?”He said: ,,If he shortened (prayer) and (broke) the fast.” And As-Saduq narrated it with his chain to Muhammad Ibn Ahmad Ibn Yahya, who narrated it from Muhammad Ibn Husain. I say: ,,It has already preceded, from what it indicates.” [Wasa’il-ush-Shi’ah, volume 28, pages 74-75]

Comment:

The stoning is theoretically carried out to an unblemished (Muhsan) and must not be carried out during the time of the Imam’s concealment (a.) [Here!]
