The one who changes his religion

Question:

What would be the punishment for a person who changes his religion?

Answer:

Abdullah Ibn Abbas reported that the Prophet Muhammad (s.) said: “He who has changed his religion, kill him!” [Al-Mabsut of At-Tusi, volume 7 page 281]

عن محمد بن الحسن عن عبد الله بن عباس عن النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم قال: من بدل دينه فاقتلوه

The followers of Umar transmit the same.
