Twelve Imams of misguidance

Question:

Who are the twelve Imams of the misguidance from the Quraish?

Answer:

Sulaim Ibn Qais reported that Imam Ali (a.) said: “The twelve Imams of misguidance are of the tribes of the Quraish and as for Mu’awiyah and his son (Yazid), they will follow after Uthman. Then the two seven sons of Al-Hakam Ibn Abi Al-As will follow one by one until the twelve Imams of misguidance are completed. They are the ones the Prophet Muhammad (s.) saw on his pulpit, and they would like his community to return on their heels. Ten of them belong to the sons of Umayyah, and two men (Abu Bakr and Umar) laid the foundation stone for them, and what resembles the transgressions of this community weighs on them both.” [Kitab Sulaim, page 212]

عن أبان بن أبي عياش عن سليم بن قيس رضي الله عنه عن الإمام علي عليه السلام قال: اثنا عشر إمام ضلالة من قبائل قريش أما إن معاوية وابنه (يزيد) سيليان بعد عثمان، ثم يليهما سبعة من ولد الحكم بن أبي العاص، واحدا بعد واحد تكملة اثني عشر إمام ضلالة، وهم الذين رآهم رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله على منبره يردون أمته على أدبارهم القهقرى، عشرة منهم من بني أمية ورجلان (أبو بكر وعمر) أسسا ذلك لهم، وعليهما مثل أوزار هذه الأمة
