Al-Ghada’iri about Kitab Sulaim

Question:

Did Ibn Al-Ghada’iri classify the reports of Kitab Sulaim as weak?

Answer:

Abu Al-Husain Al-Ghada’iri writes: “Aban Ibn Abi Ayyash and the name of Abu Ayyash is Fairuz. He belongs to the next generation and reports from Anas Ibn Malik and Ali Ibn Al-Husain (a.). He is weak (Da’if), one should not pay attention to him. Our companions ascribe to him the fabrication of the book of Sulaim Ibn Qais.” [Ar-Rijal, page 36]

قال أبو الحسين الغضائري: أبان بن ابي عياش واسم أبي عياش فيروز تابع روى عن أنس بن مالك وروى عن علي بن الحسين عليهما السلام, ضعيف لا يلتفت إليه وينسب أصحابنا وضع كتاب سليم بن قيس إليه

Muhammad Taqi Al-Majlisi writes: “One should not pay attention to what Ibn Al-Ghada’iri has mentioned.” [Rawdat-ul-Muttaqin, Volume 14 page 372]

قال محمد تقي المجلسي: فلا يلتفت إلى ما ذكره ابن الغضاپري

Abu Al-Qasim Al-Khu’i writes: “As a result, the book (Ar-Rijal) attributed to Ibn Al-Ghada’iri has been found to be unauthentic. Rather, some of them are certain that it is fabricated (Mawdu’) by our opponents and attributed to Ibn Al-Ghada’iri.” [Mu’jam Rijal Al-Hadith, Volume 1 Page 96]

قال أبو القاسم الخوئي: المتحصل من ذلك أن الكتاب (الرجال) المنسوب إلى ابن الغضائري لم يثبت بل جزم بعضهم بأنه موضوع وضعه المخالفين ونسبه إلى ابن الغضائري
