Ali Ibn Abi Talib (a.) reported that the Prophet Muhammad (s.) said: “The names of God are 99. Whoever called God with them, He answered, and whoever grasped them, entered Paradise.” [At-Tawhid of As-Saduq, page 195 Hadith 9]

Muhammad As-Saduq writes: “The saying of the Messenger (s.) about the 99 names of God and the entry into Paradise through their grasping means the acting (in accordance) with the names and the pausing over their meaning and the meaning of it is not the grasping of their number and God is the author of the success.” [At-Tawhid, page 195]

قال الشيخ محمد الصدوق: معنى قول النبي صلى الله عليه وآله لله تبارك وتعالى تسعة وتسعون اسما من أحصاها دخل الجنة إحصاؤها هو الإحاطة بها، والوقوف على معانيها، و ليس معنى الاحصاء عدها: وبالله التوفيق
