Ahmad Ibn Ishaq Al-Ya’qubi writes:
“So the chief priests said to him: ‘Crucify him.” Then Pilate said to them: “You take him and crucify him, for i find no fault in him.” Then they said: “He must be crucified and killed because he said he was the Son of God.” Then he brought him out and said to them: “You take him and crucify him.” So they took Christ and brought him out and made him carry the wood on which they crucified him. This is in the Gospel according to John.” [Ta’rikh-ul-Ya’qubi, Volume 1, Page 108]
“This is what the writers of the Gospel say and they are divided in every way. Allah said: “Neither did they kill nor crucify him, but it seemed so to them” (4:157), and those who disagree about him are certainly in doubt about him. They have no knowledge of him except by following conjecture, and they did not kill him with certainty, but God lifted him up to Himself.” (4:158) [Ta’rikh-ul-Ya’qubi, Volume 1, Page 110]
