Al-Hurr al-`Amili writes: “The method [of authentication] of the classical scholars is different from the method of the `Ammah [Sunnis], whereas the new classifications [of the traditions] are the same as the dogmatics and classification of the `Ammah and it has been taken from their books, as it is obvious, when one examines it and as it is understood from the words of Sheikh Hasan and others. And the Imams, peace be upon them all, ordered us to avoid the method of `Ammah.” [Wasa`il-ush-Shi`ah, volume 30, page 258]
