Peace be upon me [19:33]

,,Peace be upon me on the day I was born, on the day I die and on the day I am raised to life.” [Mariam 19:33]

والسلام علي يوم ولدت ويوم أموت ويوم أبعث حيا

Yasir Al-Khadim reported, that Imam Ar-Rida (a.) said: ,,For this creation there are three moments that are most horrifying: the day you are born and leave the womb of your mother, whereupon you see this world, the day you die, whereupon you see the hereafter and your relatives and the day you are raised, whereupon you see arrangements that you did not see in the world of this world and for these three moments God has aligned peace to John (a.) and security from its horror.Thus He said: ﴾Peace be with him on the day he was born, on the day he dies and on the day he is raised to life.﴿ (19:15) And Jesus, the son of Mary (a.), aligned peace to himself for these three moments. Thus he said: ﴾Peace be with me on the day I was born, on the day I die, and on the day I am raised to life.﴿” (19:33) [Uyun-ul-Akhbar of As-Saduq, Volume 2, Page 233, Hadith 11]

محمد بن الحسن بن أحمد بن الوليد عن سعد بن عبد الله عن أحمد بن حمزه الأشعري عن ياسر الخادم عن علي بن موسى الرضا عليه السلام قال: إن أوحش ما يكون هذا الخلق في ثلاثة مواطن يوم يولد ويخرج من بطن أمه فيرى الدنيا ويوم يموت فيعاين الآخرة وأهلها ويوم يبعث فيرى احكاما لم يرها في دار الدنيا وقد سلم الله عز وجل على يحيى عليه السلام في هذه الثلاثة المواطن وآمن روعته فقال: وسلام عليه يوم ولد ويوم يموت ويوم يبعث حيا وقد سلم عيسى مريم على نفسه في هذه الثلاثة المواطن فقال: والسلام على يوم ولدت ويوم أموت ويوم ابعث حيا

Muhammad Ibn Ali As-Saduq writes: ,,The most difficult moments for a person are three: the day he is born, the day he dies, and the day he is raised to life and God has aligned peace to John (a.) for these moments. So God said: ﴾Peace be with him on the day he was born, the day he dies and the day he is raised to life.﴿ (19:15) And Jesus (a.) aligned peace for himself for these three moments. Thus he said: ﴾Peace be with me on the day I was born, on the day I die and on the day I am raised to life.﴿ (19:33) [ … ] Our belief in the return is that it is true and He, praise be to Him, has said: ﴾Did you not see those who left their dwellings while they were thousands, for fear of death? So God said to them: ,,Die.” Hereupon He raised them to life.﴿ (2:243) [ … ] And our opponents have narrated that when the Guided One (Mahdi) comes forth, Jesus the son of Mary (a. ), descends, after which he prays behind him and his descent to the earth is his return to this world after his death, for God said, ﴾I cause you to die and lift you up to Me.﴿” (3:55) [Al-I’tiqadat, pages 49 – 62]

قال الشيخ محمد بن علي الصدوق: وأشد ساعات ابن آدم ثلاث ساعات يوم يولد ويوم يموت يوم يبعث حيا ولقد سلم الله تعالى على يحيى في هذه الساعات فقال الله تعالى وسلام عليه يوم ولد ويوم يموت ويوم يبعث حيا وقد سلم فيها عيسى على نفسه فقال والسلام علي يوم ولدت ويوم أموت ويوم أبعث حيا […] اعتقادنا في الرجعة أنها حق وقد قال تعالى: ألم تر إلى الذين خرجوا من ديارهم وهم ألوف حذر الموت فقال لهم الله موتوا ثم أحياهم [ … ] وقد صح أن الرجعة كانت في الأمم السالفة وقال النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم: يكون في هذه الأمة مثل ما يكون في الأمم السالفة حذوا النعل بالنعل والقذة بالقذة فيجب على هذا الأصل أن تكون في هذه الأمة رجعة وقد نقل مخالفونا أنه إذا خرج المهدي نزل عيسى بن مريم فيصلي خلفه ونزوله إلى الأرض رجوعه إلى الدنيا بعد موته لأن الله تعالى قال: إني متوفيك ورافعك إلي

Abu Abdillah (a.) reported, that his fathers (a.) said: ,,Hasan ibn Ali (a.) uttered in that, which he opposed the king of the Romans: ﴾The age of Jesus (a.) in this world was thirty-three years. Hereupon God lifted him up to heaven (4:158) and he will come down to earth in Damascus. He is the one who will kill the deceiver (Dajjal).﴿” [Bihar-ul-Anwar of Al-Majlisi, Volume 14, Page 247, Hadith 27]

علي بن إبراهيم عن الحسين بن عبد الله السكيني عن أبي سعيد البجلي عن عبد الملك بن هارون عن أبي عبد الله، عن آبائه عليهم السلام قال: قال الحسن بن علي عليه السلام فيما ناظر به ملك الروم كان عمر عيسى عليه السلام في الدنيا ثلاثة وثلاثين سنة ثم رفعه الله إلى السماء ويهبط إلى الأرض بدمشق وهو الذي يقتل الدجال

Hasan Ibn Ali reported that Imam Ar-Rida (a.) said: ,,No matter of any of the prophets of God and His proofs to the people remained unclear, except the matter of Jesus (a.) alone, for He was lifted up alive from the earth and died between the heaven and the earth. After that, He was lifted up to heaven and made alive again and this is His word: ﴾When God said: ,,O Jesus, I will cause you to die and lift you up to Me and keep you pure.”﴿ (3:55) And God said as a report of the word of Jesus (a.) on the Day of Resurrection: ﴾I was a witness over them while I was among them, but when You left me to die, You were the guardian over them and You are a witness over everything.﴿” (5:117) [Al-Burhan of Al-Bahrani, Volume 2, page 41, Hadith 3]

محمد بن علي بن بابويه عن محمد بن إبراهيم بن إسحاق الطالقاني عن أحمد بن محمد بن سعيد بن عقدة الكوفي عن علي بن الحسن بن علي بن فضال عن الحسن بن علي بن فضال عن علي بن موسى الرضا عليه السلام قال: إنه ما شبه أمر أحد من أنبياء الله وحججه للناس إلا أمر عيسى عليه السلام وحده لأنه رفع من الأرض حيا وقبض روحه بين السماء والأرض ثم رفع إلى السماء ورد عليه روحه وذلك قوله عز وجل: إذ قال الله يا عيسى إني متوفيك ورافعك إلي ومطهرك وقال الله تعالى حكاية لقول عيسى يوم القيامة: وكنت عليهم شهيدا ما دمت فيهم فلما توفيتني كنت أنت الرقيب عليهم وأنت على كل شيء شهيد

Ziyad ibn Abi l-Halal reported, that Imam As-Sadiq (a.) said: ,,There is no prophet and no authorized representative of a prophet who remains on earth for more than three days after his death until his spirit, bones and flesh are lifted up to heaven. It is only the places of their traces that are entered and peace reaches them from afar and they hear it in the places of their traces from near.” [Al-Mazar of Al-Mufid, page 220 – 221, Hadith 2]

أبو الحسن أحمد بن محمد بن الحسن عن أبيه عن الصفار عن أحمد بن محمد عن علي بن الحكم عن زياد بن أبي الحلال عن جعفر بن محمد الصادق عليه السلام قال: ما من نبي ولا وصي نبي يبقى في الأرض بعد موته أكثر من ثلاثة أيام حتى ترفع روحه وعظمه ولحمه إلى السماء وإنما تؤتى مواضع آثارهم ويبلغهم السلام من بعيد ويسمعونه في مواضع آثارهم من قريب

Abdullah Ibn Muskan reported that Faid Ibn Abi Shaibah said: ,,I heard Abu Abdillah (As-Sadiq) speaking and he read this verse: ﴾When God made the covenant with the Prophets.﴿ (3:81) He said: ﴾To believe in the Messenger of God (s.) and to help Ali, the Commander of the Faithful (a.).﴿ I said: ﴾To help the Commander of the Faithful (a.)?﴿ He said: ﴾Yes, by God, starting from Adam. For God did not send a prophet nor a messenger except that He will make them all return to this world till they fight in the presence of Ali Ibn Abi Talib, the Commander of the Believers (a.).﴿” [Al-Mukhtasar of Al-Hilli, page 128, hadith 32]

أحمد بن محمد بن عيسى عن محمد بن سنان عن عبد الله بن مسكان عن فيض بن أبي شيبة قال: سمعت أبا عبد الله عليه السلام يقول وتلا هذه الآية وإذ أخذ الله ميثاق النبيين الآية قال ليؤمنن برسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم ولينصرن عليا أمير المؤمنين عليه السلام قلت ولينصرن أمير المؤمنين قال نعم والله من لدن آدم عليه السلام فهلم جرا فلم يبعث الله نبيا ولا رسولا إلا رد جميعهم إلى الدنيا حتى يقاتلون بين يدي علي بن أبي طالب أمير المؤمنين صلوات الله عليه

Hasan Ibn Yusuf Ibn Mutahhar Al-Hilli writes: ,,Ali (a.) went out to the mosque one day, as Umar was holding something from the Torah in his hand. Then he commanded him, to push it away and said: ﴾If Moses and Jesus were alive, they would have no choice but to follow me.﴿” [Nihayat-ul-Ahkam, Volume2, Page 471]

قال الشيخ الحسن بن يوسف بن مطهر الحلي: خرج علي عليه السلام يوما إلى المسجد وفي يد عمر شيء من التوراة فأمره بإلقائها وقال: لو كان موسى وعيسى عليهما السلام حيين لما وسعهما إلا اتباعي
