He pursues service and abstinence. He does not associate with people and is not gifted with understanding.﴿ Ibn Sawrah said: ﴾Whenever Abu Ja’far and Abu Abdillah, the sons of Ali Ibnu l-Husain, narrated something, people were amazed at their memory and said to the two of them: ,,This matter is a speciality of yours by the supplication of the Imam (a.) for you.”﴿ And this matter is common among the people of Qum.” [Al-Ghaibah, page 194 – 195]

,,Muhammad Ibn Sa’id Al-Kashi: Ibn Mazyad and Abu Ja’far Muhammad Ibn Abi Awf Al-Bukhari said: We were told by Abu Ali Muhammad Ibn Ahmad Ibn Hammad Al-Maruzi Al-Mahmudi who passed it on. He said: As-Sadiq (a.) said: ﴾Know the positions of our followers by the amount they bring forth from their narrations of us in a good manner, for we do not recognize the understanding one of them as understanding (Faqih) until he is a narrator of sayings﴿ It was said to him: ﴾Is the believer one who is a narrator of sayings?﴿ He said: ﴾He is granted understanding (Fahm) and whoever is granted understanding is a narrator of sayings.﴿” [Ikhtiyar-ul-Ma’rifah, Vol. 1, Page 14, Hadith 2]

Muhammad ibn Ya’qub Al-Kulaini writes:

,,Husain ibn Muhammad, from Ahmad ibn Is’haq, from Sa’dan ibn Muslim, from Mu’awiyah ibn Ammar, who said: I spoke to Abu Abdillah (As-Sadiq): ﴾Someone often narrates your saying. He spreads it among people and solidifies that in their hearts and in the hearts of your followers and perhaps there is a servant from your followers who does not narrate. Which of the two is better?﴿ He said: ﴾He who frequently narrates our saying (hadith) and solidifies with it the hearts of our followers is better than a thousand servants.﴿” [Al-Kafi, Vol. 1, Page 33, Hadith 9]
