Hasan Ibn Musa reported that Imam Ar-Rida (a.) was asked: “God give you salvation, how did you come to what you came to through Al-Ma’mun?” It seemed as if he would reject it in relation to him. Then he answered him: “Which of them is more excellent? The Prophet or the Representative? The man replied: “Certainly the Prophet.” He asked: “Which of them is more excellent? The Muslim or the associator (Mushrik)?” The man replied: “Certainly the Muslim.” He said: “The ruler of Egypt was an associator (Mushrik) and Joseph (a.) was a prophet and Al-Ma’mun is a Muslim and I am an representative.” Joseph (a.) asked the ruler to bestow authority on him when he said: “Use me over the storerooms of the land. I am attentive, knowledgeable.” (12:55) While I was being forced. As for his statement: “Use me over the storerooms of the land. I am attentive, knowledgeable.” So he said:” A guardian of what is in my hands, an expert in all languages.” [Bihar-ul-Anwar of Al-Majlisi, volume 12 page 267 Hadith 37]

Sama’ah Ibn Mihran reported that Imam As-Sadiq (a.) said:Islam is the profession (Shahadah) that there is no God other than God and that Muhammad (s.) is the Messenger of God and thus their blood is placed under protection and on this basis the unions (Nikah) and inheritances (Irth) take place and to this belongs superficially (Zahir) the generality of mankind.” [Al-Hada’iq of Al-Bahrani, Vol. 24 Page 68 Hadith 2]

Ali Ibn Suwaid reported that Imam Al-Kazim (a.) said: “You asked me about the two men (Abu Bakr and Umar). Both took his possessions from a man whom he gave to the poor and needy and travellers in the way of God. When they had both snatched it from him, they were not content with their seizure until they forced him to carry it into their homes and they continued until they wasted it to the maximum extent. How much have they increased in disbelief? By my life, the two of them had already fallen into hypocrisy before and behaved in a negative way towards the Word of God and mocked His Messenger (s.). Both are unbelievers, God, the angels and every man curse them! By God, nothing of faith penetrated their hearts. They were deceivers, doubters and hypocrites until they turned away the angels of punishment to the place of shame, in the residence of the abode.” Muhammad Baqir Al-Majlisi writes: “Extremely authentic (Sahih).” [Al-Kafi of Al-Kulaini, volume 8 page 125 Hadith 95; Mir’at-ul-Uqul of Al-Majlisi, volume 25 page 295]
