Question:

Are there followers of the people of the house (a.) who are worse than their enemies?

Answer:

Al-Husain Ibn Muhammad reported that Umar Ibn Yazid said: “I came in to Abu Abdillah As-Sadiq (a.), whereupon he told me extensively about the merits of the followers (Shi’ah). Then he said: “Among the followers (Shi’ah) after us there are those who are worse than the enemies (Nawasib)”. I said: “My life be sacrificed to you, do they not claim to love for you, and acknowledge your guardianship (Wilayah) and renounce your enemies (Bara’ah)? He said: “Yes.” I said: “My life be sacrificed to you, explain it to us so that we may know. Is the work we do done by them? He said: “Not at all, O Umar, you are not one of them. They are a group that are leading into temptation (Fitnah) by using Zaid (a.) and Musa (a.).” [Ikhtiyar Ma’rifat Ar-Rijal of At-Tusi, Volume 2 Page 759 Hadith 869]

Comment:

While Zaid Ibn Ali (a.) is declared the fifth Imam by the Zaidites, Musa Ibn Ja’far (a.) is declared as the seventh and last Imam by the Waqifites.
