Combining the prayer for children

Question:

Should the children be ordered to combine the prayers one after the other?

Answer:

Rabi’i Ibn Abdillah reported that Al-Fudail Ibn Yasar said: “Imam Zain-ul-Abidin (a.) used to order the children to combine the evening prayer and the night prayer and say: ” It is better than them oversleeping it.” [Wasa’il-ush-Shi’ah of Al-Hurr Al-Amili, volume 4 page 21 Hadith 1]

محمد بن يعقوب، عن محمد بن إسماعيل، عن الفضل بن شاذان، عن حماد بن عيسى، عن ربعي بن عبد الله، عن الفضيل بن يسار قال: كان علي بن الحسين عليه السلام يأمر الصبيان يجمعون بين المغرب والعشاء، ويقول: هو خير من أن يناموا عنها

Jabir reported that he asked Imam Muhammad Al-Baqir (a.): “What about the children if they do the prescribed prayer one after the other?” He said: “Do not let them be late in prayer and separated between the children.” [Wasa’il-ush-Shi’ah by Al-Hurr Al-Amili, Volume 4 Page 21 Hadith 2]
